What can we say? Oh, I know! Thanks staff of Lâ??Elizabethâ??s. We had some out of state company up for the weekend and wanted to really impress them with the RI scene. From the minute we all entered Lâ??Elizabethâ??s we felt right at home. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly hostess and made comfortable immediately. We were so pleasantly surprised and our company favorably impressed. Pound cakeâ?¦.yummy! Thanks for helping us to entertain our company.

IâÂ?Â?m new to RI. Still getting settled – Iâ??m new to RI. Still getting settled in my apartment in Providence. Missing my family and friends back home so I drove around for a while then heard the music and saw the crowd in a place called Lâ??Elizabethâ??s (hope I spelled that right). Decided to go in and that was one of the best decisions I made. Found a home away from home. Friendly people and homey environment. Made some new friends so Iâ??m starting to feel like I belong in the Ocean State.

Friendly Smile's And Welcoming Words – Don’t like going to new places so when the wife suggested trying L’Elizabeth’s in Providence I balked but she insisted so I caved and went. First time I was glad the wife nagged me. Hostess put me right at ease with her friendly smile and welcoming words. Didn’t take long for me to start enjoying myself and feeling right at home, like I had been there many times before. Of course, the wife had to say, “I told you so” but I didn’t mind. We had fun, and we found a new place to chill.

A Treasure In Providence – After a grueling, draining day at RIH I needed a drink! My husband and me

Stopped in at L’Elizabeth’s on South Main Street to unwind and relax. Excellent choice!

Drinks are great and the scrumptious éclair made everything all right again! Found a treasure right here in Providence. Thanks, staff. Job well done and thanks too for helping me to get through a very difficult day! We’ll be back soon.

Do you like a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere? Then do yourself a favor and go to L’Elizabeth’s on South Main Street in Providence. My friends and I were pleasantly surprised when we were warmly greeted by the hostess! How refreshing from other places we’ve been to where we were basically ignored! Great and reasonable ‘ritas and delicious desserts. The only problem was there were too many delicious ones to choose from. Expect us back soon to try others.

WORTH THE TRIP!!! – Although I have lived out of State for the past 3 years, E'lizabeths has always been my special place. I decided to pay a visit while visiting for the holiday. Still great service, excellent drinks, and the deserts are beyond description. Saturday happens to be their jazz night and we just relaxed to the sounds of a guitarist in the background. In short, worth the trip.

Elegant in every way! – It had been years since my first visit, so I decided why not drop in. This time I was accompanied by a close friend visiting from Florida. I could not believe it but it appeared just the way I remember it (like time stood still). Cozy, relaxing, and friendly. We both ordered martinis, unlike anything my friend was used to seeing. They were incredible creations (sorry, but that is the best way I can describe them). You could see a lot of thought and pride went into these drinks. Great presentation and service. Such a friendly staff. Suggested to anybody looking for something a little bit different. JR

CRACKHOUSE in PROVIDENCE!!! – PUTRID! HORRIFIC! IF I HAD MY OWN RATING SCALE, I'd give it LESS THAN ZERO!!! After a nice client dinner at Hemenways we decided to walk South on South Main Street, Providence. Our evening "going south" could not be a more fitting description for the next hour of our lives (after walking into L'Elizabeths...or should we say THE CRACKHOUSE...) Right off the bat we were greeted by what was clearly a CRACKHEAD. Literally, a CRACKHEAD. This creepy tall thin pale-faced guy who we later were told was the owner's son (Sean or Sam, I believe) showed us to our table (and looked as if he had come straight out of the Hitchcock movie "Psycho"). Within 15 minutes he had told us (and our clients) that HE WAS A DRUG USER, that he did lines in the basement, that the place has been around since the 70s, that he has connections all over town (like it's still the 70s) and that his girlfriend died (even though we later learned that his girlfriend was behind the bar)... thankfully the CRACKHEAD stopped short of telling us that his mom was a corpse in the basement (we had 20:1 odds that she was in the basement next to his lines of coke). AND...THIS ALL HAPPENED BEFORE WE'D EVEN RECEIVED OUR DRINKS!! Which turned out to be $20 each! For HORRIFIC DRINKS that were clearly made with cheap liquor disguised as top-shelf. My client ordered a drink with Bombay Sapphire, which undoubtedly was well gin that had been poured into a Sapphire bottle. My partner ordered a 12 year scotch that turned out at best to be Dewars (and at worst to be blended whiskey out of a giant plastic jug). On top of all this, the place was absolutely FILTHY, the glasses came with fingerprints and lip marks from previous customers, and we heard the crackhead tell a group a few tables that the DISHWASHER was "STILL BROKEN"...AND THEN WE WATCHED THE CRACKHEAD WIPE A DIRTY FORK and PUT IT ON ANOTHER CLIENT'S PLATE!!! Within an hour, we watched the crackhead badger customers, mumble / mutter to himself, and argue with his dead-girlfriend-bartender so many times that when we got the check we were happy to pay and escape with our lives. The POLICE should CHECK THIS PLACE OUT (for obvious reasons). We will never again visit what has affectionately become known by our clients as "THE CRACKHOUSE"!! And THE CRACKHEAD needs to be LOCKED UP!! THIS PLACE IS DOWNRIGHT CRIMINAL!!!!!! (and it's really really creepy...)

So many horrible things happened during our one hour visit to this hole that I can't write them all down. Here is a summary: The manager (owner's son) is clearly a drug addict. He scratched his bare back before serving our food that was made behind the bar in a microwave. He wanted us to come in and eat so badly that I felt bad for him. He would NOT leave us alone and told us horrible stories about his exfiance killing herself two years ago to date while we were "dining" and that he was accused of stealing money from the business (no kidding). He RAN outside whenever anyone looked remotely interested in coming inside and again when any customer went outside for some air or a cigarette. Ready for this unlisted price gaffe?? EVERY ALCOHOLIC DRINK IS $18!!! Four of us each had one $10 sandwich (some of which were billed incorrectly but we didn't even bother to bring it up) and one drink each and the bill came to $194.00!!!!!! For a lunch meal the manager had the audacity to write in his 20% tip! We paid the ridiculous bill just to get the hell away from this guy. He tried to bribe our happiness with a round of "on the house" oversweetened fruit drinks that had literally no alcohol in them. He sold us a chocolate covered strawberry drink that had strawberries but were not chocolate covered. The tuna sandwich made me sick and the bacon on everyone else's BLTs was undercooked. NEVER GO HERE.
