Very disappointing – I decided to try this restaurant on Saturday night, and was extremely disappointed with both the service and the food. I ordered a bowl of guacamole which seemed like a pretty good deal until I saw that half the bowl was filled with shredded cabbage, and was bland and not too fresh. I then had "Celia's fajitas," which came with "p*t beans" which again were bland and uninspired, literally 5 soggy french fries, flavorless, strangely minced rice and pico de gallo. The description said "thinly sliced chicken," and in actuality were uneven, unappetizing and overcooked hunks of chicken with peppers and onions. The waitress forgot the tortillas, and blamed it on "a crazy night," even though the restaurant was half empty. I will never eat here again.

Editorial Review – This Sunset branch of the Celia's chain offers strong margaritas and filling platters to neighborhood locals.

good authentic mexican food, great for parties, no reservation required, sometimes difficult parking, but the N Judah muni takes you right there – Awesome authentic Mexican food. The nachos are the best I've had in a really long time. The fajitas (chicken is my favorite) are also delicious... served on a steaming hot platter. My waitress was extremely nice and accommodating. Also, strong and tasty margaritas at a very reasonable price--in fact best one's I've had in years. They don't call it the home of the famous Celia's margarita for nothin'. Overall a very positive dining experience. I'll be back soon!

Standard Fare – I guess my expectations of Celia's are little lower that some of the other reviewers here. Celia's has decent food and drinks for what it is. I'm a sucker for old-school style Mexican joints with red vinyl booths and cheesy artwork. Good place for a group to get a table and be loud and not worry too much about the size of the bill.

What's Going on Here?? – Food was bad. Hostess was cold. Waiter was pushy and humorless. Drinks? How does $29.00 for a small pitcher of margaritas sound to you? Don't make the mistake we made and order a call tequilla. No happy hour even though they advertise one on TV. Haven't these people ever been to a real Mexican restaurant? It was dead silent inside -- no music. Just a wasted opportunity; the kind of Mexican restaurant you'd find in Utah, not San Francisco.
