Outer Sunset diner feeds locals looking for a greasy spoon with an Asian twist. – Sure, this homey diner on the corner of Noriega and traffic-heavy 19th Avenue serves American lunch and dinner standards--think burgers, pastas and steaks--but whatever the hour, breakfast is king. The intimidatingly large plates piled with eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, bacon, biscuits with sausage gravy and every possible combination of these things (including the gut-busting Bull's Special which includes all of the above) are available at any hour, and most of the tables you see are filled with morning favorites. While the overall vibe is decidedly Denny's and priced accordingly, there are a few subtle Asian influences: avocado joins the list of shake flavors like chocolate and vanilla, sriracha sits next to ketchup and Tabasco on the tabletop and you can substitute rice for hashbrowns with your brekkie.
friendly service and good coffee – i don't know about the other people complaining but, i always get great service there. and i think the coffee is great unlike some other main stream diners. i've ordered the corn beef hash benedict at least 3 times and have enjoyed it everytime. the ladies that work the counter not only do they treat us nice they sometimes even have a small conversation. i guess it's one of those places where you have to be there at the right time and i guess every time i have visited was the right time.. i also have heard for cheap eats the lunch combo is easy on the pockets.... haven't tried it yet .... but still recommend..
Came for breakfast – The food was good but the waitress that served us was kind of slow but I still recommend the place cuz the food was pretty good.
TERRIBLE SERVICE! – The waitress was more interested on yaking on the phone than taking my order. I had to wait 10 minutes for her to finally get off the phone and take my order. She began to walk away before I was even done telling her what I wanted. The coffee wasn't fresh and tasted like it had been sitting out all morning. She never brought my my water or any refills of the crappy coffee. After I was finished I had to get her attention to bring me my check and she just told me the amount which was several dolars higher then what it should have been. When I pointed this out to her she didn't believe me until I showed her the menu and she added it up on the cash register.
Needless to say I won't be returning there ever!
