Average ... but don't go near the raw bar – We have been to this place two times ... the first time we liked it - the second time, we were unimpressed. The service is meteocre in the restaurant ... the bar appears to be better. We had the raw bar sampler and it was like eating rubber pencil erasers. The oysters tasted 'fishy' and were inedible...much of the $40 sampler went to waste. My entree wasnt good either - it was a ravioli of some sort. The hangar steak is good and the goat cheese potatoes are as well ... maybe we caught them on a bad night.

Real cocktails, flavor infused meal – You will not find a collection of more knowledgable bartenders, ANYWHERE! Come here to enjoy and savour a real cocktail. These guys are impressive. I also enjoyed an amazing fusion dinner, brought to me by a hospitable and charming server. The smoothness and finesse with which this spot is run lends much credit to the management. I'm thrilled with this find and expect to return often.

Overpriced and understaffed – I recently ate at Eastside West and I must say that I was a little annoyed. The managers sat at the bar chit-chatting, it took us a few minutes to get seated because there was no host and our drinks took FOREVER! The servers had too many tables and had trouble giving us proper/prompt service.

I usually go in on the weekends for drinks, but the bar has become so packed with drunk frat boys that the last time I went it took me almost a half hour to get a martini! The DJs have been poorly selected for the past few months.

It's a wonder this place has been open for almost 7 years with employees and management as they are now! They have lost another regular customer!

Only the bar scene - don't go for the food – I had dinner here in May 2005. The food was really bad. I had the Chicken Parmigiana which was overly oily with a sauce that lacked flavor, my date had the Truffled Wild Mushroom Risotto which also lacked flavor and the risotto was undersooked. The food was way overpriced considering the low qualtiy that is served. Eastside is nothing more than another bar. The aquarium in the backroom is even unappealing because the fish look very unhealthy.

Brunch & Bloodymary's – Come in and have a Bloodymary on Saturday or Sunday and it will be the best you ever had hands down. Rebecca makes the best Bloody in San Francisco.

Live music, a buzzing bar scene and a good selection of seafood on ice make this a popular Marina hangout. – In Short
Walk past the buzzing bar to the main dining room, with sculpted banquettes that encourage lounging and lingering. Pristine fresh oysters and crab from the well-appointed raw bar are always popular, and entrees like grilled striped bass are also frequently ordered. Even cocktails pay tribute to the kitchen's seafood slant--a martini comes with a freshly shucked oyster and the Clamdigger is a potent, briny bloody mary doused with clam juice.

Good menu, horrid service – I don't even know why I didn't leave after standing at the door for over 7 minutes with not one person at this restaurant acknowledging me. And no, it was not extremely busy and yes, there were at least 3-5 employees who barely looked at me and acted busy! Half the restaurant was empty - oh that's right, I was meeting a friend and couldn't leave! I was giving this place a second chance as I remember having service issues a while back.

The menu is varied, and the food is good. Not all the service people are horrid - but overall something they need to work on. But not so great that I would come back as this is San Francisco and there are way too many better restaurants.

Early April Meal – Food and Service were excellent. But don't take an early seating. We were rushed to make sure that the party after us were seated at their time. The dollar rating is off by one dollar sign. Parking is the pits. Valet parking is very hard to find since it is on the opposite corner from the restaurant.

solid 9 – Eastside West has one of the best bloody mary's ever and the scallops appetizer is fantastic. Good food, good drinks, good service. Nothing spectacular but a really comfortable environment to enjoy some fries and fuzzy navels with friends. Tip: make sure you check out the huge fish tank with exotic fish in the back room, especially a good place to sit if your date is boring you to sleep.
