Hunting! Gathering! – Hunter-Gatherer is my campus temptation. On countless occasions I have strode by, stealing furtive, longing glances at the darkened windows. I dare not stop for what would certainly be a delicious lunch, for to dine at HG and to not imbibe is contrary to everything I believe in. Though the pizza is delicious, the salads delectable, the pasta to die for, it is the beer, the beer, ladies and gentlemen- the beer is the thing. It's Columbia's only brewpub. Enough said. Also a great spot for daytime hipster-watching. I'd give them five stars if they'd bring back the manchego appetizer. Right, Megan Utsey?
No better establishment for beer – Fresh brewed beer and great tasting! Very friendly attentive staff and the food is always something to look forward to! We LOVE it here!!!!
Best Brewery, Best Prices, Best Food near the Capitol – Near the state Capitol, this place is a hidden gem. The service is top notch; friendly is an understatement. Be careful of this place because it will spoil you and you will hold other places to these high standards! This is the best local Brewery with fabulous tasting ribeye steaks and duck. We ordered Cajun Shrimp and Black Beans for an appetizer. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked just the right amount of time. Even the beans and chips were good. The chef knows what he is doing in the kitchen and the brew master knows how to make beer. I love a good tasting Ale and this beer was clean without any bad after taste. A home run. Beer costs a respectable $3.50. You MUST visit this place and order the ribeye steak! Food is better than the Liberty Tap Room & Grill off Gervais Street and that says a lot. The atmoshere is relaxed on the day I went. I noticed an open stage so maybe on weekends that place kicks it up a notch.
