Not very good - or clean – Machines are older & not always in good shape. Downstairs workout room is depressing with no windows - though upstairs has windows & is better. Men's locker room & showers are dank, foul smelling and not well cleaned. Theu claim that all shower facilities are to be rebuild (and closed for 2 months) - but the start date keeps changing. Pool is freezing. Not even close to a good Y.

A nationally recognized recreation and athletic center geared toward community improvement. – In Short
The first U.S. branch of the YMCA started in Boston in 1851; there are now more than 2,500 locations nationwide, making it the country's largest nonprofit community service program. Each YMCA reflects the community it's in, offering differing services based on the area. Most include fitness areas with aerobic equipment, classes and racquetball and tennis courts. Many also have day care and after-school programs, as well as summer day camps.

Small-ish, laid-back gym – The Stonestown YMCA is on the small side, but still has a pretty good selection of equipment and machines. The upstairs room is great: rows of treadmills and ellipticals look out onto Eucalyptus Avenue, and there is a lot of room for situps/stretching. The downstairs weight room is kind of dark and depressing however, with no windows and out-of-date treadmills that face the wall (but bonus: there are TVs). The pool is nice but can get really crowded. The Y is definitely an unpretentious gym: the staff is friendly and the crowd is older. It's a well-priced, decent gym if you live in the area, but nothing extraordinary.

Best Family Gym – This is the best gym for you and your family to enjoy. The membership staff is great, friendly and helpful.
