shown the light by friends ... – due to a major misunderstanding of my friend's rating of sodini as "ok", i've avoided dining here for quite some time. however, upon my friend's insistence a group of us went last night and i've been enlightened to her "ok" that translates to my "great". the sodini experience is meant to be shared family style with many partaking in the numerous savory fare. one of my favorite dishes, the pepper steak, was only enhanced by dipping it in the tortellini cream sauce. in fact, my plate resembled an impressionist mélange of colors with taste. only downside was no dessert.
Mediocre – Service was fine, ambiance fine, but the food was your typical northbeach disappointing Italian. Nothing to get excited over. Probably wouldn't go again
Great food, hospitality, and atmosphere – We stumbled upon this place on a Saturday night and decided to go in because it seemed to have a cozy, candlelight (yet lively at the same time) atmosphere. We were definitely not disappointed. We sat at the bar while we waited for our table (not an overly long wait either) and the super friendly bartender topped off our wine while we waited (at no charge). The very friendly manager (or owner?) then took us to our table where a very knowledgeable waitress took care of us for the rest of the night. As for the food, the salads, pizza, and pasta were all great and the wine was very fairly priced. Overall, it was a great evening. I would definitely recommend this place. Skip the tourist traps and treat yourself at this find.
Felt Like Italy!! – Asked the bartender at Lefty O'Douhl's for an unpretentious North Beach joint with traditional pasta dishes. Without hesitation he mentions Sodini's. What a perfect spot. The pasta is excellent, the atmosphere is very "neighborhood" and the service - second to none. My new joint when I'm in town.
Good food and service – The food was good. I think they could improve on their meat sauce but otherwise it was all really tasty. The service was incredible and everyone was very friendly.
Great Pizza – Sodini's serves one of the best pizza's in San Francisco. If you can't get a table right away, the bar works just as well. The bartenders are always attentive.
Very Good Food, Nice Atmosphere – Definitely not a foo-foo place and the atmosphere was laid back and great. It's old school and the food was pretty darn good. I would recommend it - don't think it gets that much "press". Very friendly service as well.
I miss it !! – Ever since we had a dinner here by accident a few years back, I have been coming over to this place since & whenever I have the chance. This place is cozy and intimate. You need to make a reservation if youre planning to have a late dinner, cuz this place can get really crowded.
Good pastas – Nice Italian place that has great atmosphere and nice bar area. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place can get crowded as it is pretty small. A great place for a romantic date and good Italian food. Overall, a good value and worth a try.
Pefect Date Place – The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was perfect for a date. If you can, get one of the tables in the window, very romantic and cute!
