A definite favorite for these Mid-westerners – We were told to try Steve's when our realtor was showing homes to us on our lookey loo visit. We came to eat here the first night we arrived in town....what a blessing to find such a warm enviroment with people who really cared. The food was excellent and not to mention the portions......WOW.....we were very impressed and are already trying to think of an excuse to go again. This will be the place to take our relatives and friends when they come down for a visit. BRAVO!

Good Food, Great Service – The food was good, the line was really long, but well worth the wait.. We went in with a very large party it was our 1st time there and Sue-ellen and Shannon took care of us. They were very informative and had alot of patients with our group. We very much appreciated it. GREAT servers, we will ask for them EVERY time we go in there.

OK Food-Loud and Bad Service – My husband and I decided to to here for lunch one day because it is so full at dinner and I honestly cannot tell you why. The food is OK., but nothing worth waiting in line for. Once we were seated, it took forever to get anything. We finally got our drinks, later the hushpuppies, and still much later our food. My husband works in town and was still late getting back to work because it took so long to get our food.

To top it off, there was something on my plate I did not order. I almost started eating it, thinking "Oh well," when the waitress came to me and took it off the plate and said sorry..then proceeded to give it to a guy at another table. How did she know I had not touched it? That was just gross.

Excellent food fast! – This is the greatest seafood place I have ever been too. I do not understand why anyone would ever go to another place.

Excellent for large groups and they get you in and out quickly!

Great food Great value – You can easily get discouraged when you drive up and see the sea of cars in the parking lot. Nothing changes when you see the line out the door, but amazingly the line shrinks quickly. Immediately after sitting down, you realize why the place is so crowded. They serve dessert first! The hushpuppies taste like cake and are even better dipped in the honey butter. They can fill you up if you arent careful. The blooming onion is not as good as Outback's but it is tasty as an appetizer.

The seafood is outstanding and you get so much for your money. Surprisingly the chicken tenders are tasty as well. A small seafood plate is enough for a hungry man. Salt and pepper catfish strips are my favorite. You can also request to have any of the fried fish salt and peppered.

If you have never been, then the big sampler Platter (i think is called pete's or steve's) is the way to go. You get a sampling of all the fried seafood except the catfish strips. The big sampler platter and a small s&p catfish strips would easily feed three.

Captain Steve's is the only seafood place that I enjoy eating leftovers the next day. Most seafood doesnt hold up that well overnight.

The service can be a little spotty at times because of the crowd, but I always get a sense that the wait staff is working hard.

You will not be dissapointed going to Captain steve's unless you go on Mondays when they are closed : )

Good Food, Bad Service – The food here is good, but our recent experience with carry out was terrible. We walked in and ordered. 45 minutes later we were still sitting there, and finally asked them to check. 15 more minutes, and still no meal. When the food finally arrived at the counter, it was cold. The clerk said "sorry", rang us up and sent us on our way. We won't be back.

Best Seafood in Charlotte – If you want really good seafood and actually be completely stuffed at the same time, Captain Steve's is the place to go! This is truly, what Southerners call, a ?fish-camp?. Total yummers for this restaurant! Especially during the weekend, the line can be out the door. However, as opposed to many crowded restaurants with long lines, Steve?s gets everyone in pretty quickly. It is worth the short wait!

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – Fresh fish fried up for the family southern style goes down great with hushpuppies and a glass of iced tea.

Great Kids Restuarant – We love Captain Steves... Gets a little busy after 6pm....but never a long wait. Wednesday night is kids eat free (love that) Great Hushpuppies... kids under 3 get a free shrimp plate every night. Great seafood and kids choices. Kids get a menu and crayons....fun activites keep them busy. Fun little candy checkout counter.....kids love looking at the fish tanks... Best seafood restuarant in Rock Hill and Fort Mill.

line? yes. party 5+? go! – no doubt the food is FANTASTIC! serivce too. get there early for a shorter line but parties of 5 or more tend to slide to the front. oh yeah and hushpuppies - melt in your mouth fabulous! if you get a platter, make it two items, not three. you will still take food home! i laughed when my husband mentioned the name, i laughed. i laugh no more!! sing the praises of captain steve's!!!!!!!!
