Good Comic Book Shop – I had previously been in another store in Murfreesboro, Great Adventures, and felt like they really didn't want me to bother them. I mean I was asking them about comic books and not games and the person who talked to me seemed to want me out of the store.

Then I went into Outer Limits. I happened to meet the owner of the store.

The Owner of Outer Limits has a knowledge of comic books and the comic book business.

I said something in passing to him that I had also said in Great Adventures. He knew what I was talking about, Great Adventures didn't know what I was talking about..

The Owner of Outer Limits understands that I know very little about the newer comics, but that my knowledge is that of the Golden Age and the Silver Age of comics.

I am not a gaming person and he realizes that, but I am a person who enjoys the older comics and he seemed to appreciate my knowledge.

I mentioned a name of a former chain of stores in Northern California to the Owner of Outer Limits, he knew of the chain and of some of the former employees and management of that chain of stores.

It is great to see that there is still people in the comic book business that appreciate the older comics and not just the new comics and the games.

The Best Card and Comic Shop in Murfreesboro – Competitors continue their misinformation campaign, but that's all they can do; no one can actually compete with Outer Limits locally in Murfreesboro, whether you're a comic or toy collector or you're looking for open game space and a quality Magic: The Gathering locale, with an atmosphere fit for all ages. The staff is always willing to help with anything they can, each with their own distinct specialties above and beyond any general retailer, and while they may not have every game or comic available in stock at all times, a potential order is just a brief conversation with one of these specialists away.

When I first moved into town, Outer Limits was actually my last stop on the list of comic and game shops to try, especially after coming off of a very bad encounter with a competitor a little far off the beaten path that paid attention to his computer behind the counter for almost a minute while I stood there, until I called for his attention, then brushed me off when I asked about books for a character that wasn't popular at the time (Deadpool). I got the very distinct impression that if it wasn't mainstream or Warhammer he wasn't interested. To be fair, there are some games and titles that the Outer Limits staff may not be completely familiar with, but thy are supplemented by an incredible community of frankly surprisingly supportive and courteous patrons that are willing to step in and offer their input on any of these rare gaps (and without the usual superfan condescension).

The best way I can sum up Outer Limits of Murfreesboro is this: Come for the hobby, stay for the people.

Close this store, or sell it to someone who actually cares – The store currently does not have any knowledgeable employees when it comes to purchasing collections and about creating a wide selection of vintage items. The selection is very limited; mostly to newer items within the last few years. The previous owner, Randy Pearcy, as well as previous employees were much more knowledgeable and friendly. Basically, the store has gone from a major comics and toy collector's store, to a games den with comics. The current owner is basically a fan boy who lived his dream of owning a comic shop. The only problem is, he has ran it into the ground and has created a cult like atmosphere. Shop Outer Limits or shop nowhere...

Much, much better than it has ever been – I had two hold boxes in Murfreesboro, for a long time. One was at Grand Adventures, because their discount is SLIGHTLY better than Outer limits. I kept most of my comics at Outer Limits, out of loyalty. I say, forget about Grand Adventures. that place is cramped. they shove all their comics into a corner to make room for table games. Outer Limits, on the other hand, has pushed all the gamers into a back room, and thank you (outer limits) for that. It's like a library. it seemes... i dont know... respectable. just wish they had an email address or a website.

best comic store in Town and one of the best in Mid State – First, when the owner can get your wife hooked on comics...well its A #1. Second, he's a real person and cares about all aspects of collections: toys, comics, busts, books, posters and card gaming. I'm a toy and comics guy but the owner and his family respects all ages and collectors. Its a place where a teenager or a family can hang out and its still "cool.' Go! and go now!

Best Murfreesboro store! – Today was new comics day, because of Christmas. So once again I went to my home store, Outer Limits. Here's the deal, this is my store of choice. Because the owner actually reads comics and enjoys them. If you've been looking for a comic shop that actually has a makes you feel like you belong, then here's your place. Also, if this is your first time in the store, let them know, they'll treat you as an honored guest, not an outsider.

Not. That. Bad. At. All. – Wow. Pretty easy to see that someone stepped on somebody's puppydog's tail. and I couldn't let that review go without a rebuttal. Truth is, the Outer Limits in Murfreesboro has only had two owners, and the present one is working pretty hard to dispell memories of the past. The store is anything but "dingy and cramped" -- it's clean, uncluttered, and family oriented. The staff is (now) friendlier than its ever been -- and VERY far from incompetent ("now" meaning a former employee who was arrogance personified is mercifully long gone). I've been shopping there for nearly seven years, and it's better now than its ever been -- more stock at better prices, much easier to navigate, and it seems to be growing. Yeah, it may not be the best comic store in middle Tennessee (Rick's Comic City in Nashville might deserve that distinction), but Outer Limits is a solid number two and nothing to sneeze at. Believe the other review only if you want to miss out on good selection, good prices, and fun.

Worst. Shop. Ever. – Cramped, dingy, elitist, geared toward card-kiddies... is there any wonder why Outer Limits has changed ownership so many times over the past few years? If I did my job the way they run their shop, I'd have been fired for incompetence long ago. Better to subscribe from the comics companies than go here.
