THE ABSOLUTE, WITHOUT A DOUBT, WORSE FOOD i HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE....NOT AS ADVERTISED...TERRIBLE SERVICE..
Worst Seafood EVER! – I had wanted to go to Joe's for quite some time but refused to pay $15 to park. My husband and I finally got a day off and during the day there is actually some street parking available so it's only a few bucks. We were really looking forward to the meal. Then, we were HORRIBLY disappointed. I promise that you will get better and more upscale seafood at Captain D's and I am NOT a fan of Captain D's. It wasn't simply not up to par. It was gross. The hushpuppies seemed like they hadn't even actually been cooked. The fish was wiry and hard, like maybe it sat under a heat lamp? The fried shrimp was mushy underneath the batter. It is taking time and effort out of my day to write this review and the only reason I'm doing it is because if it saves even one person the disappointment I experienced here today, I will have done my job as a decent citizen. Seriously, if you don't heed this warning you will think back on it as you pay that $60+ bill.
LOVE IT!! – Had a great meal, great drinks, & great time!!
Awesome food – My girlfriend and I was vacationing in Nashvilleand ate at Joe's one night. Man it was great. She had the snow crab steamer pot with chesapeake style flavor, she hasn't stopped talking about it. I had the steak and mango shrimp, the shrimp were the best i have ever ate and the steak was perfect. Juicey, tender and full of flavor. NOOOOO steak sauce needed. we highly recommend this place for your dinner.
Joe's bad joke – Steamer pott was terrible and expensive. I think Captain Dee's is better. Stay away from this one.
Joe's is my absolute favorite place to eat...in the world! – I am NOT a huge seafood fan, but I absolutely love Joe's Crab Shack. The first time we went, my husband had to drag me inside and I pouted the entire time we were there...until the food arrived. My husband ordered the Crab Nachos as an appetizer (which made me furious because I hate crab.) WRONG!!!!! I ate over half of the crab nachos and was IN LOVE! (I order them every time I visit now.) Because I was still pouting when we ordered, I settled for shrimp (normally the only seafood I like) but we ended up sharing both our meals because I LOVED the crab cakes my husband ordered. The next time we went, we took the kids and they both ordered popcorn shrimp- which I was sure they would never eat. WRONG again! They received HUGE portions and ate until they were stuffed, then took their leftovers home for lunch the next day. JOE'S IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE RESTAURANT!
Honey Noooo! – I ordered the steampot and it had no flavor at all. It was totally BLAND. The staff was dead and the bathrooms were filthy. Will I be back? HONEY NOOOOO!
Not pleased – My husband and I had lunch here on Mother's Day. I settled on the crab cake sliders and he ordered the Steampot (crab legs, shrimp, sausage, etc.) My sliders were absolutely disgusting. I have never tasted crab that was so fishy in my life. Even canned crab has a better taste. We didn't think you could mess up crab legs, but boy, were we wrong! The first bunch tasted like Windex. They got better after that but were completely over seasoned with Old Bay. The best part of the meal were the french fries and the kid's pizza. Pretty sad coming for a so-called seafood restaurant. My husband ordered a beer and our server completely forgot about it until our food was brought out and we asked for it again. When he brought the beer over, he didn't ask how the food was. Not once were we asked if we liked it. We had a $50 bill after tip for a terrible meal. I will not be returning here again.
Good food & good service – The food was good and we had a good host and waiter. The bathroom was cold. Parking could be a problem.
A colorful seafood restaurant for kids of all ages--especially the younger ones. – In Short
Admittedly kitschy, unavoidably noisy, this Red Lobster for rug rats is like an oversized seaside shanty awash in oceanic memorabilia--fishing nets, souvenir trinkets, plastic flotsam and jetsam. Staffed with a lively crew of G-rated table-dancing servers, the family-friendly chain anchors its menu in all things crab: Crab balls, crab cakes, crab dip, crab gumbo. Finicky children opt for corndogs or hamburgers; shellfish-phobic adults dine on rib eye steak or mesquite-grilled chicken.
