go there for the atmosphere – Other reviewers have said its because they only have 3 people. true, but that doesn't change the fact that this place has some of the slowest service. The atmo is great though, and the coffee is good. Besides, if you're there studying, waiting in line for 15-20 min for a cup of coffee is a nice study break.

The parking is good, as long as you park in the designated spots or on the street somewhere. The parking company that operates the lot is pretty strict and tickets are a pain, but they respond quickly. i

This cafe's easygoing atmosphere, java and simple fare attract a steady stream of collegiates. – In Short
Housed in a ramshackle old place near Elliston Square, coffee is still the cafe's focus, but it has turned into a relaxed neighborhood restaurant and catering service. On late nights, there's often several college students crouched over textbooks, but there's just as likely a cluster of friends knocking back a few brews. Food offerings include salads, pizzas, burgers and sandwiches. There's also a wide variety of vegetarian choices.

LOUD – I have been going to the cafe since I started school three years ago. It was a great place to study but now the staff is as loud as the patrons and I have to wait 45mins for a cup of joe?? I asked one of the kitchen guys to please keep his very loud singing down and he started making fun of me to the other workers. It's still an okay place but I miss Shell a lot!!!!

Portland Brew has a better atmosphere if you ask me.

It's Getting Better All the Time – Since I have been coming around Cafe Coco, I have seen many things improve including my own viewpoint. For what it is, Cocos is a glorious thing. I have read several reviews calling service crappy and food bad. For starters, there isn't really any wait staff. there's a bartender, who makes your drink and places your food order, a cook who makes your food, and a busser who brings your food out and cleans the place when you leave. That's it. No waiters, no Maitre'D, no hostesses, just 3 people busting their butts to make things run as smoothly as possible. On another note, yes, it's true the food used to suck. The kitchen got a new Executive Chef last year though and the food has been awesome. P.S. everyone that works there is damn sexy.

Too hip for me – I have been going to the cafe for years and I think some of the employees get worse every time I go in. They seem more into impressing people and hanging out on the porch smoking than customer service. The lines for a simple coffee dring can be up to thirty minutes long when they seem to be "hanging out" behind the counter. Still, they have great coffee and they are open all the time so I guess beggers cannot be choosers.

Late Night Fun – This is a great place to go after a concert or to study with a group of people. The coffee is great and at a decent price. The food is good too but a bit overpriced.

Ecelectic Nashville – This place is just fabulous! I got often, and am always suprised by the beautiful employees, both men and women...fascinating! And they DO work for tips, by the way, the jar says "We'll work for tips" (which is true) not "We'll work for tips" as someone stated earlier. The service is great, they are most helpful. The prices are a little high, but you have to pay more for a place to stay open 24/7 like they do (even on holidays). DO NOT park in the pay lot unless you actually pay! If you don't, you will likely see a "boot" on your car!

Cafe Coco – I am not sure of why everyone thinks the servers are rude here because they are not. Yes, this is a place that a lot of vairous people like to hang out and and not all of them are as ill as these discptions say they are. The coffee is great but food is good to nosh on but a bit on the expensive for to eat day to day. The 24hr time slot is a big plus for those of us who like to go out to places on the weekends and get coffee after a show/club. Try it because I bet you will find something you like and some things you don't but that's why everyone is diffrent.

As of now the second back bar is open 7 days a week! Open Mic nite is coming back also.

Goth and Short – if you have a hankering for short people dressed in all black writing poetry about pain while listening to Depech Mode, you've found your home. Friday nights will forever be emblazend in my mind with foul mouthed 4'10 18-year-olds hopped up on caffeine and 45 minute waits for a sandwich. Oddly, this is a recomendation.

What to expect... – I lived in Europe for several years and loved sitting at a sidewalk cafe, enjoying coffee and pastries - It's a lot like that.

I've been to Denny's and a thousand other corporate-cookie-cutter restaurants - It's NOT at all like that.

Wander inside to the counter and place your order from the chalkboard menus. Don't forget to drop a tip in the old coffee pot on the counter. Wander around and find someplace to sit. Pretty easy, huh?

The coffee is excellent. Try the German Chocolate, hot or cold, it's my current favorite. If you're hungry, I suggest their veggie burger. It's delicious!

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else [odd, that] but they also have free Wi-Fi internet access with power outlets located convenient to most of the tables.
