Tear it down and rebuild – This is one of those places you have to go to at least once when you live here and it, no doubt, has great talent playing here - especially on Sundays. But get a clue folks. The place is awkward and too small and no amount of painting nor rearranging will cure that. The owners need to find a larger building with more seating options and better facilities for musicians and patrons alike. Someplace where you can actually see the artists and actually get to a bathroom. Guess that's hard to do when you name the club after the street though.
How Disappointing! – I went with three other people to the Jackopierce show last night. We got there plenty early to get a table and eat. Food was good and our server was awesome, but as everyone started arriving (it was packed) they stood DIRECTLY in front of the people that had bothered to arrive early. We had to stand on our barstools to even get a glimpse of the stage. The manager told the standing people to move out of the way as the show started, which was ineffective. We should have saved our money and listened to the show on Lightning 100. Word to the wise: if you're going to a big show at 3rd & Lindsley, go the day before and spend the night at a table up front. How disappointing.
always delivers the goods – we had a really nice relaxing time. music was great, food was above average, service was outstanding...as usual
Hot time in the City – Great place! feel comfortable there has good food and great music
Wow! – Saturday December 7, 2002...a day that will live in infamy! In town for the Colts/Titans seasonal rematch....had checked out City Guide ahead of time...This place and 'Homemade Water' the headliner that night came up highly recommended. After dinner out and being seranaded by the cabbie with his Ode to Bin Laden on the way over, we arrived in time to catch Robin Enlish's last set. Clearly she's an under appreciated talent. Her own music with sister on background vocals was fantastic. IMHO, she's got a soulful sound reminiscent of Jamie O'Neal. The headliners, Homemade Water, were phenomenal. We hung out all night. Thanks to Ryan, Tara, Lee and Cheryl for making the night exceptional.
outstanding – great weekday venue...don't know about the weekend. The night I went, the Wooten Brothers were playing. I believe they play here every Wednesday. If all the live acts here are like this, this place won't be undernoticed for long. I caught one of those nights when some amazing guests just popped in...Victor and Roy (Futureman) Wooten and Brian McNight's brother, I forget his name. There were several other guest appearences too, but these are the ones I remember. Well worth the $5 cover. I'll be coming back here for sure. The show blew me away!!! Only 1 gripe...could use more bathrooms.
3rd and Letdown... – I was psyched for an amazing time and had heard only cool and wonderful things about this place, but I had a horrible time. It was smoky, filled with loud drunks, and the only thing worse than the food was the music. I may give it another chance in the future, but it would have to be for a very amazing musician. The atmosphere was a little more "redneck" than I was anticipating.
Leaves You Wanting More... – We've been going here for years and have never been disappointed in the music, atmosphere or food! Mark Selby, Blue Mother Tupelo, Jonell Mosser!!!, awesome music...our favorite place!!!
best club – 3rd is the best.... Ron Brice is the MAN...
I love this club
cool music – I have yet to be disappointed in the quality of music here....Drink service is always good... Dont know about dinner....
