I have had great experiances here – I have always dreaded the dentist but Dr Meyer and his staff go above and beyond the call of duty to make me feel comfortable. They also very gently and understandingly have let me make payments according to what I can pay. When I've had an emergency on the weekend, Dr Meyer has called me right back and done whatever has needed to be done.
Do Not Use Westgate Dental / Donald N. Meyers, DDS – I've never had any dental problems and was quite surprised when Donald N. Meyers, DDS at Westgate Dental told me I had several cavities and needed a deep gum cleaning...nearly $2000 of dental work. After that alarming visit I decided I better get a second opinion from a friend's dentist. My friend's dentist took a very close look and saw no cavities at all. He also said he thought my gums looked fine, though he suggested I try an electric toothbrush. Donald N. Meyers, DDS's "treatment plan" was completely unnecessary and would have caused me uncessary pain and suffering at a significant monetary cost. I would avoid Westgate Dental at all costs.
So far I have had a good experience – My husband and I had a bad experience with another dentist. We decided to track down a dentist my husband had in the past. Dr. Meyers has just recently transferred from an office in Antioch (where my parents go) to Brentwood. Some of his staff also transferred with him. One lady recognized my name and we found out that she remembered my parents and Dr. Myers remembered my husband. His office staff was also approachable and willing to work with us. I said all of this to show that the staff is friendly and cares about their patients. This office also uses new technology that catches things early so you can nip it in the bud before it does more damage.
I have had an overall good experience!
Time to change Dentists – My wife and I used to use Dr Eaby for our choice of dentist. Since that time, Dr. Eaby has left the practice. Dr. Sony has since taken over and is less than average at what she does. For example, both my wife and I went in about 5 months after our last visit to Dr. Eaby (havinig no problems) and Dr Sony said we both had 4-5 cavaties and needed deep cleaning of the gums. They then guilted me into having a deep cleaning done (which is very uncomfortable) and sent me on my way. I went and got a second opinion and that dentist decided that both my wife and I had no cavaties and needed no cleanings. Very disheartening. I hate that Dr. Eaby built this practice up only to be ruined by an unexperienced, misdiagnosing practitioner. Really a shame.
I was soo impressed! – From my first appointment to just my regular 6 month cleanings, I have always been treated so nice, always taken back ontime and never had a charge on my account that was not supposed to be there! Sedation has to be the best thing to happen to dentistry, and Dr. Eabys work is wonderful! Thank you to the whole office!
