Glad we found them – The people at Bellevue Animal Hospital have really walked with me through some of the more stressful episodes with my furry family members. The staff is very knowledgeable, and always extremely helpful, especially during the days that it seemed like I couldn't go on. They always go out of their way to comfort me, and my pets. They have been life savers for our family!
LOVE this place and the VET – My boxer Che LOVES this place and is always treated with so much love. She, as all boxers are, is a handful and they are always patient and loving. The nurse techs that handle the animals while Danny King examines them are very well trained in handling their patients. They are all wonderful and I highly recommend them to anyone who has a pet and needs a vet. To respond to the other reviews: ALL the techs have been helpful and kind to my dog, especially the guy with the tattoos.......Che actually peed on him and he laughed about it! As far as the smell,....the facility is always clean and of course it smells like animals..........it's a VET!
Good vet – We have taken our pets to Bellevue Animal Hospital for many years and they have always treated us and our pets well. We recently took our cat in and the staff was friendly and helpful. Dr. King and the techs were gentle and caring with our cat. They asked us questions and listened to our concerns.
Staff doesn't care about clients or pets – I own the world's sweetest kitty, and she is very scared and nervous. I had heard about Bellevue Animal Hospital's low cost spay and neuter program, so I made an appointment for today to have her spayed. When I dropped her off this morning, the receptionists were very unfriendly and nonchalant, not smiling or hardly making any eye contact. When the tech came to bring my petrified little girl to the back, she called to the receptionists, "Which one?" and they responded, "blue carrier." That's it. No name, nothing. Just "blue carrier." I found it a bit unnerving that my animal - whom I care about greatly - was just treated like an object or a commodity. The tech grabbed the carrier and just walked off, not greeting me or my pet. She didn't even bother to look at either one of us, or to say thank you, or to address my pet by name.
I left feeling unsettled, and went back to work. I was discussing it with my coworkers, who are all familiar with the establishment. Within 5 minutes, I had made up my mind that I didn't want my cat to be there. Judging from the hospital's poor reputation and what I had seen in the employees' actions and attitudes, I called and said I was coming back to get my cat. I didn't even say my name, but when I got back to pick her up, they had her sitting right there ready for me. They must have obviously known from from the get-go by my reactions that I was uneasy. When I expressed my disdain with the vet tech's attitude, the receptionists just kind of looked away.
I have worked in the pet care industry for ten years, and I know how professionals should act toward their clients. Bellevue Animal Hospital's "professionals" alll display lackadaisical, indifferent, apathetic attitudes, and it made me concerned as to how they were actually going to be handling my pet behind closed doors. They obviously lack compassion and concern, and each client that walks through their doors is just another nameless, faceless number. My pets are a huge part of my family, and I expect for that to be respected by animal health care professionals. I do the same for my clients, and make it a point to make sure that they know I care about their pets as individuals. I definitely did not receive this respect at Bellevue, and will stand firm in my low opinion of this practice. I will never set foot in that hospital again, nor will I ever recommend it to anybody that cares about their animals.
BEWARE – I took my dog here to get groomed because it was close to my house. When I pulled in I saw all of the employees outside smoking. I walked inside and the stench almost knocked me down. The place looked really bad and the staff was rude. I had a bad feeling about this place but thought I was just being paranoid. The nurse came to get my dog and he was covered in tattoos and had piercings all over. He did not speak to me or my dog and pretty much took her right out of my arms. I left her there screaming and crying. When I got to my car I decided I was not leaving her. I went back in immediately and picked her up. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE
