I'm proude of highland pediatrics – In short: Excellent, Convenient and Affordable!
We have a 4 year old kid who was seen by a PCP and several other physicians at this center. All doctors here are through in diagnosing the problem and explaining and treating.
Our journey started couple months before the kid was born. We had a pre-visit to the facility based on the several friends’ recommendations. A pediatrician visited our new born in the labor room on the same day with hours after he was born.
Doctor Appointments were never been an issue for us. If my kid's PCP is not available, we could find another doctor at this facility for the date and time we need.
This pediatrics also has an early morning walk-in facility without an appointment on week days and also open on Saturdays.
When we make a call to the doctor’s nurse, they are very promptive in returning calls.
I have also recommended his facility and the doctors to several of my friends and I never heard any complaints from them. As I know, they are still with this pediatrics.
My best part is, there is a Bojangles restaurant very close to this facility and I never miss to visit this when I’m here! :-)
highland peds – i've used this hixson office for my son for years. i like them. they see my child asap when his allergies attack., help me out when he makes a split decision to play sports, meaning he needs a sports physical 'NOW'. I also suggest seeing one of the nurse practitioners or varieous other members of the docs in this group. of course i have my favs, still i like the whole group. as far as the receptionist's duties, insurance confirmation is no thrill anywhere. they've never messed up my billing or left me in a jam so far, and my son is almost 14 y.o.
Not very friendly – I just moved to the Hixson area and needed to find a local pediatrician, after having been with same pediatrician for over 10 years where I moved from. My 7 year old daughter needed some care, so I called and asked about seeing a new patient. After putting me on hold, the receptionist (I guess) came back on and proceeeded to give me the littany of rules, after confiming I had insurance of course, hurdles, etc. and to call back he nexr business day. The propogated medical environment of gatekeeper privilege of accepting new patients, when care is needed, is troubling. Especially, when you have insurance.
I am exercising my priviledge of finding another pediatrician based on this initial interaction--never got to experience the 'care'. But the office staff is likely reflecting the desires of the caregivers.
Wish Everyone Had Such Great Doctors – I, too, am alarmed that someone is posting a rating based on second-hand info. Shame on you! I have a teen and we have seen five different Highland Ped docs over the years and all have been professional and truly caring. Dr. Neall and Dr. Coffman are our favorites, but we have seen Wood, Carroll and Eldridge, too. It is definately a "patient-first" attitude and they do not dismiss a worried mom's questions, but truly take the time to discuss any issues. THE BEST AT WHAT THEY DO:)
Love it! – I love Highland Pediatric - we have been going there since my son was born 13 years ago and with our daughter for 10 years. Dr. Neall is so calm and patient and knowledgeable. He takes lots of time with you. We've also seen many of the other doctors over the years and they're great too. My husband was a patient of Dr. Eldridge when he was a kid. It is also easy to get in when you need to be seen.
Finally the right doctor – It took me three pediatric offices before I found Highland. I have three kids and I have used Highland for ten years.I've seen every doctor there, my favorite is Dr. Coffman. He interacts with the kids and he takes the time to answer questions, explain whats going on with your child, and always has a pleasant attitude. I'm very pleased with how me and my children are treated there. I tell anyone who is looking for a pediatrician to go to Highland. I have had good experiances with well checks and sick visits. They have always took good care of my children.
Excellent Practice – I am the mother of three and all my children are patients at Highland Pediatrics. My first child was born with a serious medical condition and our pediatrician, Dr. Neall, as well as all the other doctors we saw were excellent. As a first time mom it was wonderful to be in an environment that was concerned not only with my child's health but the well being of our family. When my other two children were born I could not imagine taking them anywhere else. I have complete confidence in the doctor's and the staff. Anytime one of my children is ill they always find room for them to be seen. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a new pediatrician to try Highland Pediatrics.
A review from someone who actually uses Highland Pediatrics – Why anyone would even listen to a review done by someone who has NEVER visited the practice is beyond me. Dr. Coffman is our pediatrician and I couldn't be more pleased if I had anyone else on the planet. The office is very professional and will do anything to ensure you are comfortable and happy with the level of care you receive. I've had my son there several times in the past few months because he hasn't been well and they ALWAYS accommodate me and make sure the issue is taken care of.
So to anyone who even considers the below opinion (from the individual saying that their friend went there and Eldridge, yada yada) then it's your loss. Highland Pediatrics is nothing by professional and wonderful. I've seen several of the doctors there and the only one I even remotely don't like is the nurse practitioner. I think everyone there is wonderful.
Highland Pediatrics – I was troubled by a review that I read about this practice. While doctors are in fact human and all humans make mistakes, the reviewer gave the practice a negative review based on hearsay.
I have used the doctors in the practice for over three years now. Because I had a high risk pregnancy and take a maintenance medication for Epilepsy , I had been given very mixed advice on nursing my first child. When I met with Doctor Carroll, she gave me a very resounding "yes" on the breastfeeding. She reasoned that the baby had been exposed to the medication throughout my pregnancy and what little may be in my breastmilk could not outweigh the benefits of the nursing. This gave me great confidence in her because she didn't necessarily rely on medical data or worry about the risks of lawsuits but used common sense along with her medical expertise to make the best decision for my child. Over three years, I have seen all but one of the doctors and spoken with the office staff on several occasions. They happen to have one of the most friendly staffs I've met which is rare these days in medical offices. Each doctor uses his or her time wisely but always leaves adequate time for questions and thourough examinations. As for the mis-diagnoses mentioned in another review, I have had the doctors make correct diagnoses on many occasions once, even when the ER doctor at TC Thompson's made an incorrect assumption about my son. Doctor Carroll prevented him from walking around with pneumonia for weeks. These doctors are highly recommended!
