I had always been into The Pool Place during the winter time for their Christmas items and my husband and I had been talking previously to then about having an inground pool installed. So last year while we were shopping, we were introduced to our salesman, Bill. He was so helpful and listened to what we were wanting to do in our backyard and he came up with different plans for us to choose from. All in all, it came together perfectly. The process flowed along much more easily than I assumed it would have. The contractors were great and made sure that we were kept in loop about every step. Dillon (the project manager) was our go to guy for any questions about the process and made sure everything went as scheduled. Our pool is a wonderful addition to our home and we are so pleased with The Pool Place. I would recommend them in a second.
I will never recommend this place to anyone ever to build their pool. My husband and I ordered the economy inground pool in March of 2013 and this is now August 13 2013. flat backyard nothing major just a round pool with decking and a small retainer wall. It has been almost 6 months and our back yard is a muddy mess and our pool is still not done. When we bought the pool we were told late May early June and our pool would be in. Those dates came and went then we were told July 9th we would be swimming. That date came and went. Now it is the middle of August and still havent stepped a foot in the pool. The contractors the Pool Place uses we found out are not just pool contractors. They build houses and they get to your project when they can. It did rain quite a bit this year but come on. We were told the reason it has taken so long was because of the rain. The pool place blames the contractors and vice versa. What ever and if it did rain through the week and didnt get to your pool and then Sat is sunny and dry. Which that happened a few times they don't work Sat. so you are just out of luck. I am sitting here now looking out at the mud and mess that has been out there for almost a month now and cant believe it. Never use them. We knew there was going to be a problem when the first meeting with the pool place at our home and the guy didnt show up when scheduled. We called and he had forgot. My husband said I have a bad feeling but because I wanted a pool so bad we went ahead and used them. Checked around and found that I could have got a better deal too. Bad experience.
This place is great. I don't understand all the negative comments. we bought a pool recently and had great customer service, great installers, and great support after the sale. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Their prices are also very reasonable.
Bought an inground pool 4 yrs ago. At first of March noticed one wall had caved in. Notified Pool Place and they were HORRIBLE! Tried to blame on ground water. Wanted to do nothing and charge us for new pool. After weeks of arguing...they agree to pay cost of pool and want us to pay for all concrete...still blaming on ground water...Well guess what...during demo of old pool find out contractor did not pour footers and nothing was holding walls in place except weight of water in pool. It is now JULY and they have dragged their feet....lied several times...AND SHOW NO INTEGRITY OR CUSTOMER SERVICE....PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THEM...We had to threaten legal action...using social media, and calling Don Dare to expose them....Sitting here now on 7/1 waiting on them to show up.....Go to my FB page for pics!!!
Ok, so we decided to get a pool. Went to this place and talked to the sales person who was eager to sell. We worked out the details in March. Said that it would take about 6 weeks to get it in. Next, about two weeks later we get a visit from Dillon (Construction Manager). He said it was all doable, but that he is back logged and it would take a couple months. Nice how that changes as soon as you write the check for the deposit. Next, I have a few questions so I email Dillon. Most answers are short and not really answering the question. Next two emails do not even get an answer. We then decide to change something and cannot even get the sales person to give us a quote on the change for days. It is now nearly June and they have not even begun to get the permits to start. At this rate, I would get to enjoy the pool maybe the last month of the summer. What is the point. I did not realize that it would take them all summer to get a pool in. We cancelled the contract.
Poor customer service. Beware go somewhere else. – I purchased an Artesian Spa from The Pool Place in Knoxville several years ago. I wanted to do something to the wooden cabinet. I called to see what was recommended and was told "whatever I prefer". I know nothing about this wood and was very disappointed by the lace of concern. The person was even rude on the phone.
BUYER BEWARE – WHAT A NIGHTMARE. WE PURCHASED A POOL AND THE CONTRACTOR WHO INSTALLED THE POOL WAS A TOTAL DISASTER. IT TOOK THREE DAYS AS THEY NEVER HAD WHAT THEY NEEDED TO WORK WITH, WERE ALWAYS AT LEAST 2 TO 3 HOURS EVERY TIME THEY CAME BACK. WHEN WE CALLED THE POOL PLACE TO COMPLAIN I WAS TOLD I WAS BEING UNREASONABLE. EVEN AFTER THEY DID DAMAGE TO MY YARD FROM GETTING THEIR BOBCAT AND TRUCK STUCK IN MY YARD STILL NOTHING BUT EXCUSES. I NOW HAVE RAILS THAT ARE NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED. I WILL NOT EVEN GO AND TAKE MY WATER SAMPLE TO THE STORE AND WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING INCLUDING SUPPLIES THERE.
GREAT SALES STAFF/GREAT SERVICE STAFF – WE HAVE PURCHASED TWO POOLS AND ONE HOT TUB FROM BILL AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT GREAT EXPERIENCES. STAFF HAS ALWAYS GREETED US AND BEEN VERY HELPFUL, FRIENDLY, AND KNOWLEDGABLE. OUR JETS IN THE HOT TUB KEEP FALLING OUT AND THEY REPLACED THEM, NO QUESTIONS ASKED UNTIL OUR WARRANTY RAN OUT. BUT WE WILL CONTINUE DO BUSINESS WITH THEM BECAUSE OF THE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FRIENDLY STAFF. KUDOS TO THE POOL PLACE, THE ONLY POOL PLACE IN OUR BOOK. SURELY THERE ARE OTHERS OUT THERE WHO COULD SAY SOMETHING NICE ABOUT THEM.
RUDE STAFF, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE – If you can avoid the Pool Place, DO SO. Go somewhere else to buy your pool parts or accesories. The staff is very rude and the customer service is extremely poor.
They have a limited staff and they do not want to help you at all. They are rude from the onset. The owners need to look into this store and replace the manager and his sidekick, they are a joke. Totally useless place!
Trust me you will be treated much better at any of the other pool places, avoid the POOL PLACE in KNOXVILLE.
THE POOL PLACE KNOXVILLE, TN – We purchased a pool liner from the Pool Place in March and did not receive it until Oct. (dillon said it would take 10 days) They were putting up their Christmas trees when we made our last attempt to get the liner we PREPAID for in March. They had many excuses, including "You already picked it up". Ken the manager is very rude and does not want to talk to you and defers you to Dillon who is a VERY ARROGANT young kid with an attitude of "he doesn't care" about the customer, they are not there to help you. I would not recommend buying any pool items from them as they are very difficult people to work with. They really need to replace Ken and Dillon with some more personable people. I don't think they like their jobs and you can tell by both of their attitudes. Stay away from The Pool Place.
