I had taken my car to a local repair shop and also to Kia dealer in Knoxville and Kia dealer in Oak Ridge. None of the 3 shops could determine what my car needed to repair the problem of it not going in reverse in the morning when it was cold, among other problems. Transmission Corporation of America determined it was the transmission and performed the needed repairs and fixed the problem. I appreciate their prompt identification of the problem and recommendations and also their quick repair time. Furthermore, I liked the fact they requested I come back after driving a couple weeks to have a free maintenance check to ensure I would have no future problems. The customer service and technical assistance by Wendy and Angel were superb!
I want to tell everyone about this place. from what I saw, if it wasn't for Wendy and Angel, this company wouldn't be as great as it is. Those girls are great. They treated me so good. They keep the place looking good and smelling nice. The mechanics fixed up my Honda minivan in a jiffy and now I don't have to worry about my car breaking down anymore.
My most recent trip to their facility was for an overheating problem on my Taurus. This was the fourth time I have used this company. The office staff is both friendly and knowledgeable. The customer service here is second to none. They were thorough when explaining what was causing the problem and honest about what options I had to repair it. I went there the first time because I heard them advertised by Dave Ramsey on his radio show. I keep going back because they take great care of me and my car. Who wants to have to take a car in for repair?.....No One! But, if you must do it, this is the place. It's bad enough when your car breaks down and there are so many auto shops who have people working for them who don't care about you or don't even seem to have common courteousy anymore. This place is different .These people really get it! They know how to treat people. When I have to spend my hard earned money on something, I like to know the people who are getting it care about me and really give a hoot that it's stressfull for me to turn loose of money I had not entended to spend in the first place. Each and every time I have been here for service on my car, I was treated well and my car was fixed right. Their prices are fair too. In this day and age we have too many choices on where to take our cars. You should take it somewhere where the people know what they are doing as well as treat you right. That's why I like this place. Thanks!
I took my Honda to this shop for timing belt & water pump replacement. The engine had been making valve knocking noises and was due for timing belt & water pump service. The staff was great to listen to my issues and concerns and even to show me the old frayed timimg belt and rust inside the old water pump when I came back to pick up my car after the service was done. Now my car is running better than it has in years! I am so happy with it! And on top of it all, I got a phone call only 7 days later to make sure my experience with their company was good and my car was running well. I will use this company again.
We were very please with the service we recieved from Transmission Corporation. Also the help and kindness we were shown by all the employees we came in contact with was appreciated. They did a great job on our van and fixed it for a lot less than another shop said it would cost. The other shop said we needed a complete transmission replacement and Transmission Corporation replaced some electrical component (selanoids?) for $426.13 and had us back up and running the very next morning. If we ever need transmission service on any of our vehicles we will go back to transmission corporation for the work. WE are happy to report there are still honest mechanics out there and they are located at Transmission Corporation of America.
I was very satisfied with the service offered by Transmission Corporation of America. From the first call I made to them to pick up our Ford Escape thru the explenation of the problems they found with my car. They called with daily status updates while they were working on the vehicle. Their service was courteous & professional. The repairs were completed in a timely manner. They covered all the bases. When they called to let me know my car was ready, they even asked if I needed a ride to come down and pick it up. The repair was satisfactory. To date, the transmission in my Escape is working well. I am definitely a satisfied customer. I would not be reluctant to refer any of my friends or family members to this facility.
I took in my dodge Dakota to have Transmission Corp look at the transmission. I knew it was going to be bad news, since I barely made it to the shop. My truck sounded like someone put pennies in a blender. Once they looked at it (for FREE mind you), they told me what I expected to hear....bad news "transmission rebuild". Well, I was prepared for it, with the pennies in the blender and all, but let me tell you, they made it as painless as possible. They fixed my truck in 2 days and even followed up with me a couple days after my truck left the shop to make sure I was happy with everything. Happy? Shoot, my truck has never shifted this smooth! Everything is still working good. I hope I never need their services again, but if I do, I wouldn't hesitate to use them. There are alot of shops out there, but I am glad I chose Transmission Corp America.
We are extremely grateful for the professionalism, knowledge and customercentric focus the staff at Transmission Corporation of America displayed when we need them. Even though our transmission went out while we were passing through Knoxville (late after hours on our way to vacation), their staff made our bad luck much less painful by making everything so easy on us. For that, we are truly thankful. The girls at the front counter were fantastic, not to mention empathetic to our circumstances. They hadled everything for us from arranging the towing service and rental car so we could continue on with our vacation plans, to helping us locate a hotel for the night while waiting for the rental car company to open the next morning. The mechanics were spot-on, having our car repaired before we returned traveling back home 3 days later. Our car operates perfectly now, thanks to the fabulous team at Transmission Corporation of America. Thanks again to their entire staff for their "excellence"!
RUN FROM THIS PLACE! My transmission was coming out of 5th gear. I took it in, spent $649 to have gearshift control cables replaced and adjusted and assured by Wendy that "it was all fixed" (she denied later, of course). Drove to on ramp to I-75 and it came right out of 5th gear. Couldn't get it back to them til the next week. A supposed tear down said I needed a transmission replacement. Went w/a used unit ($1212 on top of the $649 I had already spent the prior week). Got my car back, came out of 5th gear less than 6 hours after getting it back. Had to wait til the next week to take it back. They comped the next transmission replacement and it lasted a whole 24 hours. The problem happened on Saturday (I had picked my car up late Friday afternoon), so I called on Monday. They couldn't get me in until Tuesday. The transmission this time had a grinding noise, whining and wouldn't stay in 5th gear again. I had enough after talking to Wendy and she didn't seem to care that much that this would have been the 4th time I've had it there to get the SAME PROBLEM fixed. I took it to Ace Transmissions on Monday because it sounded like the transmission was going to fall out of it. Upon inspection, it was determined that TRANSMISSION CORPORATION never replaced my transmission the first time, let alone the second time. They LIED!!!
Here's the kicker...during conversations (and the fact that there is a toddler booster in my car) with Wendy, she was WELL AWARE that I have a 5 year old AND that I am in my third trimester with my second son YET she and the techs at the garage let me leave three times w/a car that was unsafe to drive.
The owner of Ace and the techs there told me that my supposed replaced transmission was on the verge of seizing up. In all honesty, if I were on the interstate with my sons or even with my husband and my 5th gear or the entire transmission went out, we could have been hurt very badly had someone hit us.
We don't have alot of money anyway, but in order to properly fix my car, it was another $2000 that I just paid today. This is not counting four different times that I've had to rent a car...they only comped a rental one time.
Please DO NOT make the mistake I did. They look good on the internet with most of the good reviews, but it's probably just people that had minor things wrong. I don't know if they are shady or their techs are stupid or not, but if you have a transmission problem, please please do not go there. I do not want to see anyone worry and cry like I have over this.
Given that nobody enjoys going through a major component repair, the experience at Transmission Corporation of America was as good as it gets. Everyone on staff was helpfull and courteous at all times, and they went out of their way to answer any and all questions. They accomplished what they were supposed to do in a timely manner. I will definitely return here for my next transmission repair ...but I hope it is not soon. Thanks to a job well done.
