Excellent service, speedy, best price. I went in to get an estimate for a front bumper replacement. I called for an estimate and was able to get in within a couple hours. Instead of making me replace the whole bumper, they were willing to work to get it back on with clips. Another place suggested my only option was complete replacement. I also mentioned a door issue I was having, and with a small tweak they fixed it at no charge. I was blown away and very satisfied with the work performed. I had not even finished my complimentary cup of coffee before they were handing me my keys and sending me on my way. Seriously, great service and I will definitely return.
Knoxville Collision Center - Great Service
I have used this company twice in the last thirteen months, once in Nov 2011 and once in Dec 2012. Both times they did a great job of fixing the car and did it in within the time and price they initially quoted. The first time, the insurance company paid them directly for the repair.
The second time the insurance company paid me for the repair and I was able to choose whether or not to have the car repaired and where to have it repaired. Because of my previous experience with KCC I wanted to take the car to them. The adjuster for the insurance company had already looked at the car and told me how much he thought it would be to fix the car. I had also had a repair appraisal from KCC. In the event there was hidden damage, the KCC person (Stan) told me that he would need a copy of the insurance company appraisal. He said that if there was additional damage KCC would contact the insurance company and let them know the cost of the additional damage. He also explained that additional damage is when there are parts that are damaged but the damage is not apparent until you remove some of the surface parts. Once the car was finished, the total bill was less than the insurance company estimated. KCC could have easily made their bill match the insurance company estimate. Instead, they showed a lot of integrity by charging less than they could have.
I strongly recommend this company. It helped me to realize that my primary advocate and contact person was the estimator. Stan was my contact person. He did a great job and was very businesslike.
Knoxville Collision Center -TERRIBLE FRONT OFFICES!!! – I took my car there to get the hail damage fixed and the metal work and paint was done well, other than they didn't take the adhesive off my car from the paintless-dent removal tool before they clear coated it. But this review is about the front office. They are some of the worse people when it comes to professionalism. KCC had my vehicle for three and a half weeks when it was quoted for only a weeks worth of work!!! In those three weeks KCC NEVER tried to contact me with the progress of my car. When i went to the office to ask about my car, because they were giving me the run around on the phone, they told me they would put a note in my file for someone to call me. But they never did. so my final assessment is the mechanics do a decent job but the individuals in the front office (i.e. jeff,cindy,brian,stan...etc) are terrible people to work with.
EXCELLENT REPAIR JOB!!! – PLEASE READ!! My husband and I are both physicians in Knoxville (KCC never knew this BTW). We are very detailed oriented. My husband also once worked as a quality control manager at a large body shop and when we read the reviews of KCC- we almost decided not to take our car to be repaired here. I AM GLAD WE DID. However, our relatives in Knoxville have had their car repaired four times in FOUR years at KCC (yes, very unfortunate for them!) and they had nothing but positive things to say about the service and job they received. We went ahead and had KCC repair our car and we are both VERY pleased with the job. I truly wonder if some OTHER body shop is doing fake reviews? Seriously. I have learned that when reviews are this incongruous- all one's or five's and nont much in between- that someone MAY be trying to give the "product" a bad name? Well... in any case, in my experience, I was called two times with an update about the car- was given a price quote at the beginning and was charged ONLY that. The repair was done spotlessly. My husband will notice a VERY minor scratch on my car and he thought it was perfect. The color was spot on. The car runs as well as it did before. There are no complaints from me. The other customers in the waiting room were satisfied with their service as well when receiving their cars. I would recommend this repair shop hands down.
Horrible Work and Horrible Owner – I have had two occasions to have my car repaired at KCC. The repair work was done as per my insurance company's recommendation. The car was so poorly repaired that I have tried to trade in on three occasions and can not get rid of it because of the body work. The paint job was detected even by a person just walking by, because they forgot to repaint the mirror so it does not match. The apron was "repaired" though I fear that if I am involved in another collision the car will not withstand a collision. The car will not stay in alignment and it is due to the accident. They didn't even check to see if that tire and wheel were damaged during the initial repair until I started losing air every day. The owner is such a condescending person. Don't be fooled by the Bible laying around and the biblical connotations. He certainly doesn't practice what he preaches. Basically, due to their shoddy work, I have a car that has lost approximately $7,000 in it's book value. I wouldn't take my kid's bike there for repair. And don't be fooled, Nationwide Insurance is not on your side! They must be business partners with KCC.
Condescending mechanic – I had to get my Cadillac repaired and took it to Knoxville Collision Center. The mechanic looked the car over and worked up one quote but forgot to include a repair, so I made him do a new quote. He told me it would take approximately 3 weeks. The entire driver's side of the car needed body work due to being sideswiped. When I went to pick it up, the mechanic brought me around to the passenger's side of the car to show me what they fixed. When I told him that they were supposed to fix the driver's side of the car, he looked it up in his notes and agreed. When he showed me the driver's side of the car, I noticed some spots on the trim. When I questioned him about the spots, he went in and got a rag and tried to rub them off. Then I noticed one spot on the trim was peeling. When I pointed that out, he got a bottle of touch up paint, touched up the spot and said if my husband wanted it repainted, we could bring it back, and then gave me the bottle of touch up paint. I assured him we would be bringing the car back. After getting the car home, I noticed when I got out of the car that the radio wouldn't shut off. After manually shutting my radio off, I tried to lock the car with my keyless entry and manually but the driver's door wouldn't lock at all. As I left for work the next morning, my dash lights wouldn't come on. After getting to work, I contacted Knoxville Collision Center. They told me to bring the car back so they could look at it. Turns out, the wiring harness hadn't been hooked up but the mechanic said the "safety wire" had "fallen off". Excuse me but the "safety wire" is supposed to be a ground wire for the actual wiring harness, more or less, and if the "safety wire" falls off, it shouldn't make a difference in the operation of the vehicle. In essence, they didn't hook up the wiring harness and they knew it before I ever got into the car because they had to unlock the car to bring it to me, and the keyless entry wasn't working. .
great service – Contrary to some of the previous posters I found Knoxville Collision Center to be very professional and courteous. My husband and I have had a total of three vehicles now repaired by them and we've been completely satisfied with each interaction. Not only did they repair our vehicle within the time frame estimated, they actually finished a few days early. As far as calling with updates on the vehicle, I'm not sure why some of the previous posters felt the need to have their hands held during the entire process. They give you an estimate, they tell you how long it will take and then they call when they're done. Pretty simple and efficient. They worked with our insurance company so that there was a minimum of paperwork for us to fill out. They pretty much took care of everything. I didn't find anything that would justify the complaints of previous posters. However, working in a customer service oriented profession myself I have learned that some people just don't want to be made happy and will complain no matter what you do. So, if you're looking for a body shop with great customer service who will do an excellent job of repairing your vehicle then look no further than Knoxville Collision Center.
Good Repair Work – I just picked up my son's car from Knoxville Collision after they repaired over $5,000.00 in damages to a 2006 Chevy Cobalt. I saw the card before it was wrecked and only after it was repaired never seeing any of the damage. I have to say, they did such a good job repairing the car that I could not tell it had been damaged. The customer service rep went over all of the repairs and explained everything they did. Good job.
Great Quality Shop – This is in respone to the previous post:
I have to say that a person that makes a comment about not being able to trade in their vehicle due to it being in an accident is kind of funny. The reason for saying this is any time that a person has an accident the accident goes onto carfax.....and that is probably the reason that you cannot trade your car in. Especially since you are so accident prone. Quit getting in accidents and then maybe a dealer would want to trade for your vehicle. As for the wheels, I would expect that you would have completed a better estimate than the estimators at KCC. You are crazy. People are human and make mistakes. Heaven forbid they miss a wheel that is not visibly damaged. As far as the owner and his beliefs....who are you to even question that. i have known this person personally for years and he will do anything for you in a Christ-like mannor. As for the Nationwide experience, I kind of think they should drop you from their insurance because apparently you are too much of a liability on the road. Maybe you should start riding that bike you speak of.
POOR SERVICE – THIS WAS AN ALL TIME WORST EXPERIENCE WITH AN AUTO REPAIR. FROM ESTIMATE TO FINISH, THEY GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE, GOT MY CAR IN AND THEN THE AMOUNT CHANGED. O.K. I'LL DEAL, THEN IT CHANGED AGAIN. THEIR QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER CALLED ME AND SAID HE THOUGHT THE REPAIR WAS NOT SATISFACTORY. I WENT AND LOOKED AT THE CAR, I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT WAS EVEN SHOWN TO ME. HE SAID THEY COULD REPAIR IT WITH OEM PARTS INSTEAD OF AFTER MARKET, O.K. GREAT! I SAID YES AND EVEN AGREED TO PAY WHAT HE SAID WAS A PRICE DIFERENCE OF $15.00, HE SAID THAT IF THEY HAD THE PARTS IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT ANOTHER 20 MINUTES AND MY CAR WOULD BE REPAIRED, I WENT BACK TO WORK. HE CALLED ME ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER TO INFORM ME THAT THE PRICE DIFERENCE ON THE PARTS WAS NOW $24.00 AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL FOUR HOURS OF LABOR, YEA RIGHT! I ASKED FOR THE GENERAL MANAGER, HE CAME ON THE PHONE AND LISTENED TO WHAT I SAID AND ALL HE REPLIED WAS I'LL TAKE CARE OF IT, HE THEN POLITELY CUT ME OFF AND HUNG UP THE PHONE.
THEY NEVER CALLED TO TELL ME MY CAR WAS READY AND I FINALLY CALLED THEM AGAIN, THE RECEPTIONIST SAID I COULD PICK UP MY CAR ANYTIME, SHE SAID THEY WERE JUST FINISHING CLEANING THE CAR WHEN I CALLED. I WENT TO PICK UP MY CAR, IT WAS STILL DIRTY INSIDE AND OUT, I SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER OF THAT DEPARTMENT AND HE SCRIBBLED A FREE DETAIL ON THE BACK OF A BUSINESS CARD. I WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS BUSINESS AND WILL RECOMEND THAT EVERYONE ELSE AVOID USING THEM AS WELL. I AM IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY MYSELF AND AM A MANAGER, I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO APPALLED AT THE WAY A CUSTOMER WAS TREATED, I PRAY I NEVER TREAT ANYONE IN THIS MANNER. THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO LET OFF SOME STEAM.
