Outstanding Papas – The papas are a great side with all the other great food. The price is very reasonable, and everything I've ever ordered there has been great.

Excellent Place – This was a place me and my boyfriend went to while in Lewisville for the weekend it was close to our hotel and he wanted Mexican food. When we walked in we were speechless. We were seated right away and the food was great and suprisingly the $$ was reasonable. The tables were a little small so when my two friends joined us it was a bit cramped but overall the place was great. Might I also add that the managers on duty made it a point to stop by our table :-)

Good but not the best – I haven't eaten here often.

This is an "upscale" Tex-Mex restaurant chain. The food is good but not the best I ever had. This is the sort of place where you pay more for the ambiance than the food. When I went the service was a little slow. They only give you 3 tortillas for fajitas in a foil bag instead of plates to keep them warm and sometimes one of the 3 are cracked and unusable. Being stingy with tortillas wouldn't be so bad except the waiters don't check on you that often so it can take a while to get the next batch. I finished my ice tea several times before the waiter came by to refill it. I've run out of chips and salsa as well.

I consider O'jeda's to be the best Tex-Mex restaurant in Lewisville. Abuelo's is fancier so it is a good choice if atmosphere is more important than the food.

Patrons of this upscale Tex-Mex chain choose from a wide variety of dishes made with fresh ingredients. – In Short
The decor is the star attraction with colonial-style architecture, vibrant murals of Mexican life, and stone statuary resembling a wealthy landowner's rural hacienda. Entrees include Tex-Mex staples--enchiladas and fajita tacos--with a few surprises such as bacon-wrapped beef tenderloin and grilled mahi mahi. Sweets include the creamy caramel-flavored dulce de leche cheesecake and the rich chocolate flan drizzled with Kahlua cream sauce.

This Is A Can't-Miss Place – This is one of my favorite places for Tex-Mex and regional Mexican cuisine. Abuelo's has a plethora of fine menu selections and some items you won't find anywhere else. I've had the best spinach enchiladas ever at this place, with a great salsa de creme. The chips are always warm and very tasty, and the accompanying hot sauce is more than decent. They've also got fantastic nachos and fajitas with lots of sizzle. Wash it all down with a great, fresh-brewed iced tea. I've even taken dates to this place and it is great for those occasions. If you like great food from south of the border and great service, don't miss this place!

Wonderful – The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is great, the service was exceptional and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable.

The menu offers a variety of items from Tex-Mex, California style, and authentic Mexican dishes. Your wish is their every command.

I loved everything from the decor to the food to the service. Count me in as a regular patron.

Get there early though as there was a wait at 6PM on Saturday which got longer as the evening progressed.

A rare find!!! – I recently tried Abuelo's for the first time - and can't wait to go back!! I can't believe this place isn't packed all the time...we went on a Tuesday night, and had no wait for a table at all (though our waitress said it gets much busier on the weekends). The atmosphere is unmatched - a fountain, murals and paintings everywhere, along with statues and palm trees. And the food is the best Mexican I've ever had!!! All at a price affordable enough to go any time. Very impressed with friendly service as well. Go try this place!!
