Absolute Favorite in Dallas!! – This is the place to go for special occasions. The food is phenominal the service impecable. I love the crab cakes and the caviar and toast points that are complementary. They have an extensive wine list and arguably the best steak in Dallas. I have been reading some reviews about how long it takes to order get food etc. This is a place for event dining. Meaning eating here is an event. It is not a fast food joint to zip in and zip out. You wil spend for appetizer, entree and dessert at least 2 hours. At most fine dining places this is normal. Also, as a tip, if eating as a couple, you can order half orders of the side dishes and they are plenty for two, plus less expensive. I have been there for several birthdays and have never been disappointed. This past birthday they brought out a special dessert with candle and chocolate that was painted with gold saying Happy Birthday and my name. It was a very nice touch. This restaurant aims to please and is not offended if your steak is too rare or too done. I love, love, love this place. It reminds me of a place where Dino and the others would go back in the day, full of dark wood, suits, piano player, very masculine and fabulous!

Step above the rest – Our party arrived early, so we ran over to the bar to get drinks. I'd say, within 10 mins we were seated. I'm getting old, so I had to have some help reading the menu since it's so dark. The bone in rib eye is excellent. Very tender aged. You can tell the quality of meat is very different than Bob's or M&M's. Ordered creamed corn as a side and the fries. Cream corn is immaculate. And the fries are just the way I like it, crispy and thinly sliced. This is also a very good place for large parties.

This steakhouse sets the standard for all others – Nick & Sam's is the best steakhouse we have ever experienced. The food is excellent, the service is second to none and you feel so welcome. We met the chef (Samir) and he is an incredible person that is a perfectionist. We started with a glass of wine and they treated us to complimentary caviar! The crabcakes are a great start. Their salads are so huge that we share a salad and they encourage that and NEVER make you feel weird about sharing. Then the steaks ~ the long bone rib eye is a sight to behold and so delicious. The chateaubriand is a treat to share with 2 - 3 people. Sometimes we share the 22-26 oz. steak and get some wonderful sides to go with it. When we take guests from out of town to N & S they always remember their visit and how they were treated so special. It is hard to find another steakhouse that even comes close in quality or service. This is not just a restaurant, but an experience!

Crowded, busy restaurant with great food and high prices – Great good, service at the level you'd expect from a high-end restaurant, crowded, and noisy. We went there for the first time yesterday on a Saturday evening. Beginning with the complementary caviar appetizer, proceeding through excellent steaks and the sea bass special, and ending with beignet dessert, all of the food was outstanding. Wait staff were attentive and cordial. We (my wife and I both) were distracted by the extreme crowding, though. There were far too many tables packed together. No one, including waiters, could maneuver between chairs without kicking and bumping them constantly, and there were only a few places where anyone could even maneuver through at all. It was noisy on a weekend evening, and the prices were what you would anticipate... without any alcoholic drinks, our meals together ran $145 with tips. Good place, but know what you're getting into.

Poor Service spoils a nice place. – The Problems we have had is all about the bad/inexperienced wait staff. We Like the atmospher at Nick and Sams. The food is good, but it is putting up with the staff that spoils the evening. If I could speak to the owner, I would tell him that he has a great restaurant that the staff is flushing due to poor service. for all the problems with the staff and service, the price is way too high. If they had the service at Capital Grille this would be a great place. Still, it is not as bad as the Old Warsaw. Don't go there for sure.

My best recommendation is Capital Grille or Pappas.

Great steaks, but over-priced given the service – Had 9 pm reservations for 4 and arrived promptly on Saturday and weren't seated until 9:45 pm. The bar area was buzzing with activity so the wait wasn't awful, but the service in our secluded part of the bar area was poor. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress clearly forgot so we asked another one to bring it. Once we were seated, our server was competent, if an automaton. He seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed. We didn't get to order until 10:15. Lots of attempts to upsell (e.g., Kobe beef). Please! If I wanted someone to upsell me I'd go to one of the Landry's restaurants. Food came predictably late. The "damn good" French Fries are so, so...I"ll go to Pastis in NYC anyday over this mountain of food. Other sides of asparagus and spinach were excellent.

The steaks were worth the wait. Excellent quality and well cooked, though some of the plates were not pre-warmed. Not pre-warming plates strikes me as inexcusable. The wine selection was good, but unless your bottle of red is over one hundred dollars it will not be served at cellar temperature. Our first one was served far too warm, but the second one met the price threshold and was served at the appropriate temperature. Overall for four hundred dollars I would have expected a far better experience. Will not be going back anytime soon. Dallas has better on offer for far less money.

Great experience – We were seated quickly and without any problems. Service was outstanding. Waiter very professional and attentive. Food was outstanding. The only problem here is that they do not have an adequate valet staff. Had to wait to drop off car and to pick up as well. Definitely will go again.

Best Dallas Dining Expierence – My fiancee' and I went to Nick and Sam's looking for a romantic "Steak" dinner. Our friends mentioned that the place was excellent, and I agree! Hands down this is the best dinner, service and wine list we have seen. The wait staff was prompt, attentive and knowlegable. The atomosphere was cozy, however we sat in the back room which is more secluded than the main floor. The front bar and dining areas were much louder as we exited the restaurant. All and all, I would recommend it to anyone and order 1/2 portions of the sides.

Very disappointing- Never to return – Reservations made on line worked fine, seated promptly. Ambience was unique but very dark. So dark we needed flashlights to read the menu. Menu items were interesting and oriented to a wine connoisseur as their selection of wines was excellent (and expensive). Service was so so, at times good, but also poor at times waiting far too long to see our waiter and far too long to pay the bill. We visited on a Saturday night so it was crowded and noisy. Perhaps during the week it is less crowded who knows but it was definately a turn off. The meat was very good with the salads very good. Soups and other food like sea bass were too rich. Overall the food left us almost feeling sick it was so heavy. Due to the ambience and noise and dark conditions we were eager to leave and were not enjoying it much.

As a top dollar restaurant I expect the best experience possible, This left me feeling like I had just paid alot of money to be whipped and somehow I was supposed to enjoy it. If you need to try this place, don't do it on a weekend. Cheers...
