A group of friends, 6 of us, enjoyed a lovely dinner at Watel's. We have followed Chef Rene from several of his restaurants over the past 15 years or more. We love the food at Watel's and this newer location, another lovely place with great food. The foie gras was luscious, everyone loved their appetizers, their special salad with beets, cheese and nuts; and our main courses were great too. Great service, nice wine choices and the food....the food!

Good Food and excellent service – I have eaten there several times and the food and service has been of the highest quality. I love the garden view of the downtown city line. I plan to go again soon
Bad Service – Some of the worse service I have ever had. On a Friday night there was only 1 other couple dining so the resturant was not busy at all. The waiter never smiled, greated us, and would often disappear. We both started out with Escargots which was fine. I had Beef Tenderloin that I ordered Medium Rare and it came out well done. I would have sent it back but the waiter left and didnt come back for at least 15 minutes. My companion had the swordfish which was OK but a little fishy tasting. I dont think it was very fresh. The bus woman seemed to be doing all of the work. Keeping water glasses filled and clearing plates and bring dishes out to us.
A quaint small cozy resturant with relaxing music and a view of a park and downtown. To bad the service was so bad because I will NEVER be back
A Continental Experience – Great food, elegant but relaxed atmosphere, very European. Attentive service. An excellent choice for small family celebrations (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.).
A hidden French find offers an upscale dining experience in a cozy atmosphere. – The Scene
Brightly painted walls contrast with the delicate white tablecloths and neutral wood chairs. The wooden floor creaks, making the spacious home-turned-restaurant even more welcoming. A small army of servers attends to diners throughout the meal, providing an attentive, quaint dining experience.
The portobello mushroom served with tomato and topped with mozzarella and tapenade is a tangy way to start off the meal. For entrees, the tenderloin is a reliable staple; the duck breast with dried cherries and ginger is a more tender selection of meat. Spinach-stuffed ravioli, topped with chardonnay, walnuts and Parmesan, carries a bold flavor that pairs well with a glass of Carmenet chardonnay. The fluffy cheese mousse cake is a pleasant departure from typical cheesecake.
