Worst Doorman in Dallas! – the doorman at this bar is one of the worst in Dallas! He just refused service to 25 sober adults (30+ age range) and INSULTED every women in our party!

THE BEST BAR IN THE WORLD EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! – The bar has most definitely changed my whole perspective on bars. It's the coolest, funnest place in the whole of the States. I have traveled all around the States and have yet to find a bar quite like this. Everyone is so friendly, from the doorman to the staff and to the clientele. There's something here for everyone regardless of your orientation. Drinks are cheap and strong and the juke box is legendary. If you can't deal with the gay scene and trannies you should come here to broaden your mind (that's directed at you Dallasgirl2-get over yourself!) Personally, I think the staff are great-friendly and very generous with their measures. The atmosphere is like none other. This place is in a league of its own. If you come here once, you'll definitely become a regular!

Watch it. – I would be careful about the "people watching", lest your natural interest and curiosity about people of all kinds

is considered "staring" and you are singled out as a "newbie", and I suppose, some kind of rube.

There is a definite cliqueishness about the place, but that's to be expected. But if they want to continue to recruit new regulars, and they may not, in fact, care, they should ease up on insulting people they don't know anything

about. I have been friends with trannies, gay men and women since before one particular young bartender was born.

Aside from that, the drinks are fine, and while the inside is crowded on a busy night, there is plenty of outdoor space, weather permitting.

The Grapevine will change your life, seriously. – If you want to know why the bathroom lines are so long, ask the large Hispanic man standing by the pool table. The way I see it, minus the free and discounted drinks, the 12 hours of free jukebox music that I talked the jukebox repairman in to, and saving me from a really bad relationship by bringing out the worst in people- The Grapevine still owes me about $4,500 for rehab.

homosexuals? Yes. Trannies? Sure. People who would ordinarily make you repeatedly press the panic button on your key fob? For Sure. In droves.

I will probably never darken The Grapevine's doorstep again, but not because it didn't serve as my home away from home for many years. Not because I don't remember it with fondness. I'm just ready to pass the grapefruit and vodka to someone else. Someone younger, who knows more Brittney Spears lyrics- who still has hope- hope that she can solve the World's problems while her bare thighs rest on dirty velvet upholstery, hope that the adorable hairdresser she met at the bar will actually meet her for brunch, hope that maybe, someday she could have a really awesome wedding reception on the roof top.

Laid-back clientele, rude staff – This is a gay-friendly bar, but as long as you don't have an attitude about being gay or straight, you'll have a nice evening. A wide variety of people call this bar their home, and if you like people-watching, this isn't too bad of a place. Be warned, however. If you order drinks at the bar and don't tip with every drink, you'll be refused service, loudly and publicly, and the bartender, a 30-ish gentleman with long hair and a beard, will shout obscenities at you. The clientele? friendly. The staff? Disappointing. Those of us who grew up tipping every other round or at the end of the night will find ourselves out on our ear.

Small gay friendly dive – Nice small dive. However unless you are gay friendly I wouldn't suggest going. I was there all but 20 mins when i realized that I should have done more resreach before coming. I then finished my beer is eased back out.

Fun stuff~ – My brother goes her often and we tried it once before.....not the best night to try....rainy outside and COMPLETELY packed. So, gave it no thought for months....then decided to get my bro a gift card and went back. My friends and I had so much fun....such a friendly place, patrons and staff. I asked for cucumber water and was laughed at...loved it! Anyway, fun group of people and you never know who you might run into. Looking forward to hanging out on the patio when it gets a little warmer. Watch out for the frozen drinks if you are a light weight like me....they are full of alcohol, but yummy! Regardless, try it and keep an open mind....girls like girls & boys, and most boys just like boys. : )

Awesome bar, great bartenders, fun atmosphere, not your typical Dallas bar! – I love this place! I always have a great time here. They have an awesome patio with lots of trees and a rooftop deck, the best jukebox in town and nice strong drinks. I have never had a problem here with security or any of the patrons. Everyone just comes here to relax and have a good time and not worry about being "seen". Their frozen drinks are the best, very strong and refreshing. The decor is funky velvet chairs and cool old light fixtures but they always keep it fresh, every time I'm in I see something new. Happy hour drinks are only $2 and is more laid-back but at night it's a dance party.
