Great Hole in the wall bar – I have always loved the Elbow Room. Bars in Dallas often seem to come and go but the Elbow Room is always there. They also have a good back patio area.
What we look forward to all week – I am speaking for many as I write this review, that this bar is what many dental students look forward to at the end of a hard week. It's our safe haven, a place to relax, grab a beer and vent about the crazy stuff that we experience. The juke box has some great jams, the porch is perfect for happy hour, and you just gotta love the staff who always keeps our PBR's coming.
The cheese fries are always a sure bet, especially if you haven't had lunch. Not to mention the shuffleboard competitions that keep us at the ER a little longer than we intended. All in all, this is my hole in the wall, the place where I run to on Fridays, knowing all my friends will be there, without having to ask.
The best pizza in Dallas! – Wow! Have you tried their pizza? Baylor Hospital is one lucky hospital to have pizza like this so close by. I went to the Elbow room for an early Saturday pizza and was floored by this amazing pizza. I am serious! This is the best pizza in Dallas! The thin crust pizza was my choice and it was hand tossed, with a light sauce and the best aged cheese! I chose the sausage topping and a few other items. The pizza was cooked perfectly and I had to force myself to NOT take another bite. The crust was by far the best thin crust I have had here in Dallas, and my godmother use to own her own pizza place in the Metroplex. As a bar, it was friendly, as soon as we walked in the bartender said hi from across the room with a big smile as I wandered from the 4 rooms and patio choices. Not too bad for what they are calling a neighborhood bar. It was roomy, surprisingly NOT SMOKEY for a smoking bar and had lots of games and seating choices. Oh and the jukebox really was one of the best in Dallas. So if you need good food, good fun and maybe a few new friends or have some to hang out with already, bring them to the elbow room, there is something for everyone. If you are in the neighborhood , they deliver ( that includes to Baylor hospital) . Ask for Jessica if you are drinking or dining in, she was our waitress and was sweet, efficient and made great suggestions if you are not sure which pizza to choose from a menu of not just pizza :)
Fill your belly with Beer and Pizza! – On a recent Saturday around midnight, we found a booth near the entrance, underneath the topless Mona Lisa painting, which is perhaps the bar's signature decoration. Staff members say patrons have offered to buy it, but the bar isn't selling.
Christmas lights dangled over exposed brick, and The Who's "Who Are You" drifted out of the speakers.
It seemed like a quiet night, despite the late hour. Groups of friends and couples sat huddled around tables, talking. In the back, two guys stared at a shuffleboard table and plotted their strategy. A few others played darts. Most people looked 25 to 35.
The Elbow Room has a large back room in addition to the front space, so big groups can usually find a seat together, which is nice for birthday parties.
Service is also quick. On two visits, waitresses took our order almost as soon as we sat down, and reappeared just as our beers were getting low.
If only they could conjure up another one of the best pizzas in dallas, magically free of calories. - Qucik Feb 2008
Best salad ever! – What a surprise to find the best salad I have ever had at the elbow room. It is next to Baylor Hospital and I needed something to eat. I would usually not go into a bar for food, but gave it a try and now fee like you should know that if you want the best salad ever in a casual atmosphere, go here!
Best Pizza, Best Bar food! – Try the Sicilian pizza! Takes a little while to cook but it is worth the wait. The speadies are great and so is the house salad!
Really I havent liked anything I have tried on the menu.
Good drink prices and great local dive feel. They have new flat screens so good place to watch games.
Playful neighborhood hangout near downtown boasts a mellow feel, free games and happy-hour specials. – In Short
Find respite from the busy city in this spacious bar, where funky art by locals decorates the exposed-brick walls. The crowd comes early for happy-hour specials. Patrons hang around for the beer selection, live music, free shuffleboard and darts, plus a back porch with a panoramic view of downtown Dallas. The Italian-themed menu offers better-than-average pub grub, from calamari with basil aioli to Ed's chicken Parmesan sub, a favorite with regulars.
