GROSSER THAN GROSS – HAIR was NOT a topping option! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING... I will NEVER have another slice of pizza AGAIN!!! Customer service was dreadful.. when I called to ask that my dinner be refunded they asked me to supply the the hairy evidence that was already thrown down my trash chute! REVOLTING EXPERIENCE... later to find there was no manager at this dirty facility.
HAIRY PIZZA – I just ate from Johnnie's Pizza, the Century City location. I live in a house full of blondes, the melted cheese was infested with long black hairs. What was worse was that when I called to notify the restaurant of this vile experience, they refused a refund and no manager was even on duty to report the incident. They did want me to reproduce the trashed dinner, which was spat out and put in the bin. They also offered me another pizza. NO THANKS!!!!! I do not recommend, and will most likely never eat pizza again in my life. This place is non-hygenic and has no manager to oversee its dirty premises. YUCK
Great pizza – Hands down, the best pizza I have had in 14 years in L.A.
Rude, uncaring of the customer, and an unprofessional joke, as far as a business establishment goes. – Horrible experience... I was the only one in there, and they said "It'll be 20 minutes." OK, fine. I came back in 20, and lo and behold, but the delivery guy took my order with him by mistake. They laughed at this, and said "Wait 2 minutes." 2 minutes became 40 minutes, and not once was a refund, apology, or any kind of admittance from them that they were in error. I paid for the overpriced pizza earlier by credit card, and it would not have hurt them to either A: remake my pizza, B: refund me, C: say they're sorry, in the very least, and give some form of a coupon for next time. There will not be a next time, for the lack of customer service and the carefree attitude, as if we all have an entire evening to wait 40ish minutes past when the order was to be given to the customer.
I can not say it enough, DO NOT visit this location, as the rude and unsympathetic staff will leave you with a sour experience. Oh, and they were rude to the family sitting next to me, as well as the 2 guys ordering as I left as well.
Order a fresh pizza – This place is very convienient to my home... I can walk there if I am feeling not so lazy. I have ordered the pizza by the slice (probably had been sitting out for a little bit, but was still good.
I went back with a couple friends and ordered a freshly made pizza and it was 10 times better!
Pizza is good, crust is not too thick, not too thin. But just right. Do yourself a favor and order a freshly baked pizza.
SoCal chain determined to provide a near-Big Apple pizza experience. – In Short
For those accustomed to authentic New York pizzerias, entering Johnnie's induces an excruciating sense of déjà vu: black-and-white prints, checkerboard tablecloths, raucous music and, most notably, a heady waft of garlic and Romano cheese. New Yorkers swear it's the water that gives their pizza crusts that special "something," so Johnnie's has installed an exclusive water-filtration system. Specialty pizzas like the "white pie"--topped with garlic sauce, spinach, whole-milk mozzarella and ricotta--mimic East Coast counterparts. Caesar salad makes for a simple, lighter dish.
Eh – Ordered pizza to go, decided to stay and eat. Manager was extremely rude and told me I should not have used the to go box to eat inside. On another occaision they completely screwed up my order, when i went to get the replacement meal, they told me I could only order what i ordered the first time, not even things costing less or the same. As if I would want to order what they screwed up the previous trip.
JOhnnies's New York Pizzeria located on culver city is "THE BEST"!! – Johnnie's New York Pizzeria located in Culver City is the best pizza place I've ever tried.
The location was very easy to find and the service was really good...
Their pizza and pasta was awesome. Their toppings that goes on top of their pizza was so juicy i thought it was "ALIVE"!!!!
Get there early otherwise – Seems like a great place to try, and coming from NY thought I might be able to get some good food but its 9P on Thursday and they are closed, closed I remind you, not even my drycleaner closed before 9 in NY
best NY pizza in LA – this is the best NY pizza that i've ever had in LA. It really is good. Other pizzas do not come close. It is a little more expensive than some places but definitely worth it.
