Well below average sushi. We had a reservation, and the table was horrible in a high traffic area near the restroom. Server didnt bring hot towels, while I saw other tables receive them. Brought tea with no sweetener. Asked for soy sauce twice and the server walked away. The server saw my husband get up and walk to another table to get soy sauce and stood there looking at him. Saw our sushi sit there for 10 minutes before it was brought to us (after a 40 minute wait). Saw several other tables served who who were sat after us. Signature rolls were not that interesting. Overpriced for what you get. You would be better off going to sushi axiom or piranha killer sushi in fort worth. Not recommended.
Best sushi in DFW – Definitely one of the best sushi restaurants I have been to, and I have been to many around Europe and America. Toppopcorn who posted below me obviously did not eat at this restaurant as the managers name is not Emily, I am a frequenter as this restaurant and head sushi chef Sean is friendly and knowledgeable, and the management will help you out if any problems ary. Prices are reasonable if you don't order all special rolls and stick to california rolls or 2 piece sushi's, although I highly recommend trying the special rolls as they are fabulous. I would not however recommend heading over there on the weekends (fri, sat) as this family friendly restaurant (they offer kids food and food for non sushi-ites) gets crammed and you will be put on a waiting list for at least 10-15 minutes, with a maximum wait of around half an hour.
Highly recommended, definitely check out this gem, or their sister restaurant Lava Grill if you live further away from Southlake Lava Grill has a higher selection of other asian foods.
GANRATEED diarihe – i have experienced with the worst sushi, we had order the tempura was batter a bit thick and oily.. the chick teriyaki was nothing but burned cartiledge and fat... the sahimi was not fresh at all,,, the fish some kind of taste like metal and soggy taste to it, i was so dissappointed to it all...the sericve was terrible!! our dinner cost us $250.00 for 4 people.... the next day me and my other co-worker experienced with upset stomach for a few day,,, Dr. said have expose with the "CONTAMINATED FOOD" raw bad fish,,, i phone the rerstaurant speak with the manager Emilly said the fish was a few week old and do nothing about it... we would not recommed it..... we love sushi we have sushi all the time but sushi sam was the bad worst one in twon so far..

Not much else to choose from in Southlake, unfortunately – Our recent experience at Sushi Sam's was pretty dismal. We went with a party of 7 and made reservations. We placed our orders and we waited about 30 minutes before everyone started getting their sushi. We were sitting in the private room, which was nice because it was quieter, but bad because our waitress would forget about us and it was impossible to get somebody to help us. When our food DID arrive, we were a bit disappointed. The sashimi tasted awful - resembling something that came out of a can. It had a metal taste to it and was near frozen. The Dragon and Rainbow rolls were decent, but nothing really special. The Volcano Rolls were spicy, which is a bit unusual for this dish, but pretty good. For desert, we ordered the Tempura Ice Cream, which was delicious, but the tempura batter was a bit thick. The ice cream was probably the best thing about the meal. We spent $86 for the two of us and left feeling pretty unsatisfied. Instead of eating here, drive on 114 East for about 15 minutes and eat at Blue Fish.
