Too Crowded in class and Key Code barred door – My children attended this dance studio, it was okay. The class was about 25 or 30 girls in the ballet class. I did not like the parking as it was very crowded and the doors to get in were key code with bars on the door which was a little upsetting and scary for me. Though everyone was nice and my girls enjoyed dance, the studio just packed in the kids and I did not feel my girls really got allot out of this studio. WE have moved on to a studio that has better parking and smaller class size and are happier.
great studio – i have been going to dance concept since i was two and i joined the competition team when i was 6. Dance concept has become a sorta second home for me. The staff are like my family and at the studio i have met my GREATEST FRIENDS. The studio is a great place for jazz, lyrical, tap, and hip hop but the teachers tind to play favorites when it comes to creating dances. This may bother some people more than others but the teachers care for all students and steer them in a path to be great dancers. The studio is a place to learn life lessons and go through highs and lows of your life. I am loyal dancer at the studio but the thing that made me love the studio was the people and the way they make dancing more than just moving they make it a way to express your self and not get judged i would say that for me and for anyone who even watches a class that this studio is the place to be. I am not a cridict of other studios but i would say that Debbie Jo has made her self known in the dance industrie for making people dance with everything they got and that stands for the rest of the staff.
best dance studio in Texas – Dance Concept is wonderful! You socialize with peers and learn many techniques for dancing! I have been going there since i was 2 years old and i still am going there today! Debbie Jo is the manager and main Dance Teacher at Dance Concept and she is wonderful! They have jazz, ballet, lyrical, hip-hop, tap, and once you get to a good age they invite you to competition team! They also have class demonstrating which is where when you sign up you get to help the teacher teach the class! The expeirence is awesome just great! If you stick to it through high school your usually last 2 years you get to become a teacher and make up your own dances! it is for boys or girls! they have hip-hop if yor son doesn't want to do anything else! I reccomend it to anyone who can not dance and would like to learn or anyone who can dance and would like to show off their talent and hopefully get better at it too! i hope who ever reads this calls them right away and signs up!
Best Dance Studio Ever! – I went to Dance Concept from age 3- 8, and then i ended up moving to a small town in Virginia. In Virginia they didn't have good dance studios at all and time got away from us and then before I knew it I was 13 years old and moving back to Texas. I was excited I'd get to go back but I lived to far away to go to Dance Concept. I didn't want to go to any other place so I spent that next year trying to find one I liked and was convenient. So now I'm going to King and Roberts Studio of Dance and it's good but there was no place like Dance Concept. The staff was the best part they were soo good. Debbie Jo is an amazing instructor. If I could I would go back there right now. It's a great place for kids of any age.
Great self-esteem booster for girls – I am the mother of 3 daughters. My older 2 daughters started at Dance Concept 17 years ago when they were 4 and 2-1/2 and my youngest is still dancing there. My oldest had gone to another studio the year before we tried Dance Concept that was very good technically but just didn't seem like a lot of fun. I never intended for my children to become professional dancers; I just wanted them to have fun and maybe be more graceful than I was :)
A friend recommended Dance Concept and it has been a great place for my daughters. Ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop are offered at many different levels based on age. The dance classes work on technique but the real benefit is the emphasis on building a love of dance and respecting for your body. The teachers are great role models and really work to enhance self-esteem which is especially critical for teenagers. An opportunity to compete is offered by invitation where there is much more emphasis on perfecting a performance including appearance and technique. Competition requires a financial and time commitment that isn't right for everyone but I think my daughters benefitted enormously from the experience. All 3 of my daughters have been A students and high achievers throughout their academic years, including college. I feel that the discipline they learned from dance flows over into all aspects of their lives. Dance also provided a wonderful outlet for my girls to have fun while getting exercise. My daughters and I have made lifelong friends at Dance Concept and I highly recommend this studio.
