A bit pricey for diner food – we went for an early lunch as a family, and the crowd was decidedly senior citizen (not that it's a bad thing). the food was decent-burgers, fries, chicken fried steak, grilled cheese, but the price was about the same as it costs us to eat at chili's and not as tasty. the chicken fried steak was the biggest disappointment, but the fries were good- think Denton Co. hamburger. wonderful service. Haven't tried the buffet, might be cheaper.
1940s-style diner chain serves comfort food classics to patrons with a craving for nostalgia. – In Short
In 1982, businessman Doug Cavanaugh opened the first Ruby's in Southern California's Newport Beach, naming it after his mother. Today, this nationwide chain--adorned with red vinyl booths, Formica tables, soda fountains and retro posters--features the same timeless food and hospitality that keep diners coming back. Favorites are the classic burgers topped with secret RubySauce, fries and sweet shakes. Other staples include pancakes, omelettes, sandwiches, chili, salads and a variety of fountain treats.
Best Breakfast – This is a fabulous place to go for breakfast. They have a buffet or you can order off the menu. They have real "home cooked" food and the prices are unbelievably low!
