This is my favorite place in Houston for brunch and my favorite place in America for greek gyros. The freshly made mimosas are flavored with hand squeezed fruit and are a must have for a weekend brunch. I recommend them to anyone in the area who is looking for a nice place to do lunch. Good family environment and yummy dinner and lunch and breakfast options

Boom! Live this place! The wedge salad is yummy and they have spicy ranch hits the spot!! Pretty busy and it's easy to get in and out of there fast. Chicken wrap with black beans and tomatoes is great

"How to waste $24 in one Saturday morning". No, this is not a play or movie. This is what happened us. My wife and I decided, based on Yelp reviews of course, to try the brunch this morning. We were seated promptly in the air-conditioned patio by Carmen. We asked for water and a coffee ($2.50) for my wife. We order a belgian waffle for my wife and a migas for myself.

We had asked Carmen to bring the whipped cream on the side. She reiterated that in addition to the strawberries and bananas, they only put powdered sugar on the waffle. When the waffle came it was cold. It had 5 pieces each of strawberry and banana. There was maple syrup on the side but no whipped cream. When asked, Carmen firmly stated that they did not serve the waffle with whipped cream, just the powdered sugar. Wow. $7.00 down the drain.

The migas was just a blob of scrambled eggs on a plate. The eggs were the only food that was hot. The tortilla chips underneath were stale and oily. The black beans served on the side were cold. At least the avocado slices were fresh. $10.00 down the sink.

I am an avid Yelper and rely on reviews for good food options. My wife pleaded with me to leave without loosing my temper. I left Carmen a decent tip. Then I walked to the hostess, asked for a menu and called for the manager. I requested the manager to read the menu description for their belgian waffle. I mentioned to him that Carmen had stated that the waffle did not come with whipped cream.

Like the majority of managers I have met, the man defended his employee by stating that she was new. I mentioned that it was his job to train the new employee. All he kept saying was that he was sorry. No sense of making it right. I told him to look out for a polite but totally negative review on Yelp.com.

Please, please do not patronize this establishment unless you are prepared for shoddy service and no value for your money. NY Coffee Shop has the best belgian waffle with a pile of fresh strawberries and lots of syrup, butter and whipped cream on the side. And of course, the best service.

Horrible Service - Horrible Food – I decided to try the restaurant with my wife the other day. My wife ordered the Philly Steak and I ordered the Fajita steak wrap.

After taking about ten minutes to get our drinks and another twenty to get our food, I found that ths was probably going to be the worst money I'd ever spent at a restaurant.

The meat in the wrap was tough and rubbery. I couldnt even chew it enough to swallow. My wife's sandwich had no mushrooms, very few onions, dry beef, and cheese under the meat stuck to the bread.

The waiter never even came back to check on us or to refill our drinks. When he finally did arrive, we asked for the manager, then waited another ten minutes for him to arrive. When we told the manager of the condition of our food and the quality of the service, he simply offered a free dessert, like I was going to test fate and put anything else in my mouth from this restaurant.

We severely over paid for our meal and left. We went straight to a drive thru window at DQ and ordered burgers.

I spend over $700 per month eating out due to my schedule. I am not difficult to please when I visit a restaurant. I can overlook "a bad day in the kitchen" from time to time as long as I get some service to make up for it. It seems that Hungry's doesn't care about the service or quality of the product they provide to their customers / victims.

We will not be back to this restaurant again.

I see no 'pros' to this restaurant... only 'cons'.

Tasty & Healthy – The menu is really diverse and they have healthy food that tastes great! We love the chicken avocado pita, greek salads, all the soups, all the hoagies, hummus, mixed fried basket, tostada salad, dark and white chocolate mousse cake, coffee, etc. etc. And we have yet to find better chicken salad. We also like that we can show up wearing almost anything.

I agree with some reviewers that the service can be spotty, but it's usually nothing horrible and there are some waiters there we really like. I think it's because they have a lot of younger college kids in the waitstaff. I also like that they're really laidback about substituting items.

PS: You can park across the street at the church.

Hungrys! One of the best kept secrets in Houston! – Actually, this is in response to the previous comment from ARIKANMD. You won't believe it but I was there the day all this happened. I was sitting near the front door when you were there. If I remember correctly, you were causing a scene, and already had half the waitstaff looking for your card. I remember hearing the manager apologize to you and tell you they were doing everything possible to look for your card. You responded by saying to get more people in a very rude way. I have been eating at Hungrys for years and have been nothing but satisfied with there food and customer service. Not to mention the support they give the local community and local artists. I would have to agree with the manager on this one. If they cant find your card then all you can do is cancel it. Customer service and the waitstaff is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to Hungrys. To all the readers, I would not let this post sway you from trying one of the best restaurants in Houston. They also have a brand new menu with some great new dishes. You don't stay in business for over 35 years with bad customer service. Hungrys, Keep up the good job.

Customer service anyone? How about respect? – Anyone who knows me even a little knows how much I love this place-or used to! I have eaten there countless times, we do tend to order take-out very frequently as well since they deliver to the medical center. So many a night at the hospital we have enjoyed food from this place. Yeah, the tables are small and rickety, yes there are flies swarming on the patio but so what, right? It is a charming little cafe. And their food is great. So why so low a rating I hear you say? Well, because customer service trumps everything. Tonight they managed to lose my credit card between our table and the cash register! Annoying, but these things might happen, and a sincere apology goes a long way, right? Wrong!! Not only was I treated as if what happened was my fault, the so-called manager told me-and I quote verbatim- " What do you want me to do?" When I told him that I wished they did not lose it in the first place and the least they could do was apologize the reply was"You know what, we are doing the best we can!" However, in the meantime the waiter that lost the card was just waiting on other tables and the manager went into the kitchen and would not come back out again! So let's see if the chick will grow tired of us and leave tactic, I guess. Well, I waited around since the card they lost was my only credit card and I did not want to be inconvenienced. So after waiting for about ten minutes, another gentleman emerges from behind the bar, comes up to me and without introducing himself just holds up a stack of credit cards and says "These are the cards from just last week, people leave their cards here all the time" So I guess this not returning the credit card to the customer is a common practice at this restaurant. Then he says-and I quote again- "Don't make a big deal about it. Just call and cancel your card it is easy!" Flabber-gasted! Is it only me that finds this sort of behaviour unacceptable? Such a shame! Please be aware and avoid this place if possible so as not to reward horrible customer service.

Delicious, fresh, healthy food with friendly service – I live right around the corner and have a difficult time keeping myself from eating out here at least once a week. I always start with mint tea, which is hard to find other places. They have a large and diverse menu, from salads, soup, and sandwiches, to burgers, pasta, and steak. They also offer the most heart healty options I have seen in one place. The black bean soup is perfectly seasoned and served in a mug with fresh, spicy pico de gallo. Anything with grilled vegetables or kebabs is wonderful, the pita bread is fresh baked and hot. I've never been disappointed by anything I ordered there. The key lime pie is also fantastic. A great, reasonably priced option for a healthy lunch.

yummy healthy food – Great healthy eats, the chicken kabobs are great, so are a lot of their pitas/sandwiches.....great strawberry lemonade! Prices are a little high for what you're getting, but as they say 'Fat is cheap'......and you're certainly not getting fatty foods here!! Nice little area to meet up with friends......cute patio dining as well.

GREAT hummus and pita bread – I have been going to the Rice village location off and on for over 5 years. They used to have a to die for chicken special on thursdays that was the best meal ever. But now I have to resort to great trio salads and even a delicous burger. Overall a great lunch place and an even better quiet dinner location. I hope to soon try the popular brunch. You must order the hummus..I often call in and take to to go for a quick snack!! It really is the best in town!! Oh and don't forget the strawberry leomonade!!
