Jenny is the best! – It’s summer time! You know this means sandal time. I love finding places that are quick, friendly and affordable. Tulip nails has the best nail polish selection I've seen yet. If you ask me you can't find a better manicure/pedicure for your buck $25! I discovered Jenny and I am not kidding when I say I'll probably never go to anyone else. Book her for both your manicure and pedicure, you won't regret it! They also offer a variety of other services, professional waxing and even eye lash extensions. I had my lashes done for a wedding and they looked so natural no one knew I was wearing them. They are pretty busy so I suggest making an appointment.
best french manicure and pedicure – I have been visiting Tulips for several months now and have received many wonderful mancures and pedicures. The place is sparkling clean. I have natural nails and they always look great. The clientele is eclectic to very high end. There is very little conversation that is not vietnamese, but frankly it does not impact me. I am getting a wonderful service for a very reasonable cost $27 - $32 (mani-pedi.) I have never heard the owners yelling at anyone, and I visit once a week.
NOt what I expected – After reading and hearing the reviews from everyone, I was really excited to go get my nails done. Boy, what a let down. The place was pretty BLAH and nothing special. They quoted me one price over the phone but once I got done, it was 15.00 more than my phone price for the same thing I requested on the phone-nothing else was addded. Then the whole time, I was trying to build some rapport with my tech and she kept talking in her native tounge to the other tech beside her. I just felt very uncomfortable with the situation.
My nails didnt look so spectacular and I lost one 3 days later....i will not return!
GREAT... except – I am a loyal customer to this facility (Westheimer location). They are the cleanest place I have seen. They really clean up well after each customer. Once I found my favorite technician, I have religiously asked for her. One day she wasn?t available and I was in need of a good foot massage. So, the owner seems to specialize in them? that is when he sits in one place. He constantly gets up to answer the phone and take care of people coming in the salon. It was NOT relaxing or money well spent! When I called to make the reservation, the lady could not understand me at all; after multiple tries, I finally hung up and called back later. SO, there is ONE solution! Tulip, get a RECEPTIONIST!!! It will solve many problems? the foot massage can continue UNINTERUPPTED and there is someone that can understand the phone calls. I will not get another massage without a receptionist; it is not worth the WAIT and WAIT and WAIT. If he works on your feet, you are guaranteed to have multiple interruptions. Maybe then he can relax too... he seems very uptight and stressed all the time. It is hard to relax with someone pacing around like he does. Maybe he needs and UNINTERUPPTED massage. :) Don't get me wrong, I will continue to ENJOY my pedicures, the wonderful technicians and the very clean pedicure chairs.
Quick and Sanitary – I really enjoy Tulip, they are no-frills, but for a great pedi under $20 you can't beat it. I would rather go there (where they use plastic-lined basins) over someplace with questionable spa chairs. Plus, I have never had to wait, with or without an appt.
Editorial Review – Rice Village nail salon adds extra pampering with massage, facials and expert eyebrow shaping.
awesome experience – I have had nothing but good experiences with Tulip Nails. I drive 35-45 minutes to go to my manicurist. I highly recommend Tulip!
Yellow nails-DO NOT GO HERE! – I had my nails done at the Tulip Nails in Rice Village and the new location off of Westheimer. The customer service is the worst that I've ever experienced. I've been getting my nails done for many years, and I've never gone to a place that is not willing to work with you. On two occasions, my nails turned yellow immediately following a fill. The next day I went in to show them, and they made me PAY to have them repaired. It was obviously their fault and the cheap product they use. I was so pissed. My best advise is: DO NOT GO HERE!
Bitchy Owners – I feel terrible for these ladies who have to work for the owners of this place. They treat their employees like cattle. Degrading them by yelling at them infront of customers. Unacceptable. Although I'd like to give my favorite manicurist my business...I don't want to support the owner's and her daughter's rude behavior. It ruined mine and my friend's experience there.
