HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! – I cannot express how upset I was after leaving Nail time on west gray. I can only share my horrible experience and warn others before making the mistake of having their nails done here. I usually search for nice clean friendly places to go so I figured, River Oaks, pricy, clean. WRONG. This is the worst experience in the fifteen years of having solar nails that I have ever been through. To start, I made an appointment with Rosie on a Wednesday at four o’clock to get a full set. I already had a new set put on two weeks before that I did not like so they had to be removed. When I showed up, she told me that it would take thirty minutes to take them off and she wouldn’t have enough time to put them on. I was adamant about having my nails done that day because I did not have another day off for two weeks. I told her that I would take the nails off myself if it would save time and she agreed. She even cut them down first to take them off. I sat for about twenty minutes ripping them off shaking, bleeding and in so much pain while she stood talking about me dirty in Vietnamese to her coworkers. She never offered to help me after seeing me struggle. I asked her if she could just help me finish taking them off and I would pay her for her time and possibly come back some other time so that her appointments wouldn’t overlap. She gave me the dirty go to hell look and tried to clean them up so that I wasn’t leaving bleeding. I asked her when she would be available to put them on and she said that she was booked all week long. I then asked her if I could have anyone else there put them on. She told me that nobody else does fake nails here. I understood and asked if she had any time the following week to finish them and she proceeded to tell me that she was allergic to acrylic nails and she wouldn’t do them for me. So basically, I was devastated to understand that she just didn’t want to help me and told not to come back because no one else wanted to do them either. Just to make sure, I called the next day make a fake appointment and sure enough Rosie was available at four for a full acrylic set. I am shocked that this place is still in business. I feel that she could have saved me the agony of ripping my nails to shreds by just telling me to leave from the start. I could have had them gently soaked off somewhere nice where they care about their customers. In the future, I will save the fifty dollars and continue to use the place around the corner for twenty five dollars and a friendly conversation. The only reason I switched was because of my busy schedule but I will make time.

Shady practice – I agree with the other negative review. My friend and I decided to try them out for my birthday. I get pedicures and manicures about every two months and I know what to expect. We both asked for an acrylic set when we walked in and when we sat down. Apparently during the course of the procedure, the two asians secretly communicated psychic style, since we were on opposite sides of the salon, that we both must want solar nails, and proceeded to apply them. Not only did they do shoddy work, but apparently "solar" means bubbles because that's how each nail looks, full of bubbles and of different thickness of gel. At the end, my cuticles were ripped from the sawing down of (I thought acrylic) gels and no lotion or any cuticle treatment applied. At the end, they ask for 90 dollars and expected me to pay. I questioned the price difference and they explained that they (in broken English) replied that they informed us of the solar upgrade when they me (not my friend) if we "wanted pink". Not understanding this was secret code for solar, I nodded and went back to reading. I tried to assert that we did not ask for solar and that we specifically said acrylic sets twice, but to no avail. They got their 90 bucks, but an 11 percent tip each. Hopefully that tip will go towards their redecorating budget. I'm sticking with suburb salons, who value their work and price it accordingly.

Horrible Customer Service -- Take your $$ somewhere that respects you – I have been going to nail salons for the past 10 years and Nail Time is the worst I've ever been to in terms of customer service.

For starters, (at both locations) you are greeted with signs at every station and at the register that say, "We no longer accept your gratuity in cash." Since when did it become acceptable to not only EXPECT tips but only accept them in cash? Tips should be accepted on credit cards or by cash or check -- whatever is convenient to the customer.

Second, if you do go to this salon and you aren't satisfied with their work you can expect to pay full price for them to redo the set. I went in after work one night and had a full set put on, but it wasn't until I got home in better light and could see the really shoddy job the tech had done on my nails. I called the next day and told them what happened and requested that they be redone. I specifically asked if there would be a fee and was told no, but I was charged full price the next day when they were corrected.

Finally, don't even bother making an appointment. Every time I have made an appointment, I have NEVER been seen at my appointment time. I have even walked in without an appointment and been asked to come back at 4:00. I came back three hours later at 4:00 and still waited another 30 minutes before being seen. While I was waiting, another customer got upset and left because he'd already waited 20 minutes past his appointment time. When he told the manager why he was leaving, she didn't seem to mind and even talked about him and his audacity to her customer after he left!! Today I made an appointment for 12:30 only to walk in and find my technician working on another customer and not even close to being finished. I waited 15 minutes before getting up and leaving. They just said, "Okay" when I said I was leaving and why. They don't care about their customers one bit and have zero respect for their customers' time.

I'll never go to either location again.
