Healthy never tasted so delicious. Walk up service, no waitstaff. Their menu has options for carnivores, vegetarians and vegans. Convenient for lunch from downtown or the energy corridor. A hidden gem!
BYOB. There is limited beer and wine selections. You are encouraged to bring your own. For $5 wine glasses & ice bucket are provided. The desserts are fabulous. It is an early dinner spot as it closes at 9pm. Take out is a great idea.
Reasonably priced health food. I've eaten here at least a dozen times and always found it a pleasant experience. It's not a totally vegetarian menu, they have some meat dishes also. I always ate at lunch so don't know about dinner, but I found the food well prepared and a good value for the price. They have several types of tuna fish, a good mediterranean plate, soup, and a nice mexican plate with tasty black beans. Its atmosphere is more like a health food store with sandwich shop attached than a restaurant, but that didn't bother me.
My Favorite place to EAT. I live at least 30 minutes away from this restaurant but there is not another place like it, so I make the drive. The spinach, mushroom and tofu quesadillas are my favorite entree. I also like the steamed kale and the cakes. They don't serve soft drinks and I like that. They are closed on Sundays.
From herbs to veggie delights, this heaven for vegetarians makes the green look delightful..
In Short
This health-food restaurant/store offers dining indoors or out, with vegetarian Tex-Mex, no-meat "happy burgers," seared tempeh rounds, pimento cheese-less sandwiches, fruit smoothies and Southern plates featuring chickenless fried chicken. Some people come just for the daily macrobiotic plate, which usually includes a heap of nicely undercooked greens; others have been known to stalk away when the kitchen runs out of its signature creamy herb salad dressing.
WHY DID YOU CLOSE THE MONTROSE STORE?. Health-conscious fare, with relatively hefty prices. Many vegan options, some quite tasty. BUT WHY DID YOU CLOSE YOUR MONTROSE STORE?
