terrible. Every time I go there I come out feeling terrible.

Example: I developed an inguinal hernia, asked the doctor there what I should do. He said "cover it when you cough". Wow! I did the research, got a non VA doctor, and had the surgery to repair it done last week. They put a mesh in (consistant with my research).

Thank God that the VA hospital is not my only choice and I am intelligent enough to question things.

I know they have a tough job but so help me God, I deserve better! We all do!

Management there needs to take responsibility for a continous improvement program.

Sexually abused at the Houston VA clinic. I went to the lonestar clinic in the VA hospital houston to get my thyroid checked because I have a slow one and my new insurance to see my new male Dr. has not kicked in yet..I saw a P.A. named Shiplett, a woman. I am a man and have never been made to feel violated by any woman but I was that day.She told me I HAD to let her do exam on my genitals and check my prostrate.I was NOT even there for anything but bloodwork to see the status of my thyroid to see if my meds were still right!!!!! I told her I had a male Dr. I would be going to see the following month. She told me that my appointment would not be paid for unless I allowed her to do this.I allowed her but I felt as if she was doing something very wrong to me. I felt very violated. I have notified VA but have had no response back. If I were a woman and a male DR. did this to me they would be all over it.I would advise to know your rigts as a patient when going there so you to will not be violated in any way.Yes, woman are perverts to.
