I called J&K at the beginning of the June to get some info about our TV that wasn t working. I was told that they did indeed service our area and that it was a $59 service call but that the $59 was applied to the bill if you ended up getting the TV repair done. Gus showed up and went to work on my TV on June 10th as scheduled. He diagnosed the problem to be a power supply. As we discussed pricing, he said the service call was $99. I told him that isn t what I was told but no problem because it was going to be applied to the repair anyway. Then he said it was not because I do not live in their main service area and that the service call can be made to be $79 but not applied to the repair. So I got a little ticked and faced with a 400 TV repair, I just told him to never mind, I wrote him a check for $79 and told him that I would be certain to post reviews about my poor experience with his company. He tore my check up and said, I don t want to have a mad customer. I told him, I m just trying to understand all the things I was told and how they were different but really by the time we looked at his estimate, we were arguing over about $60. He called and found a refurbished part and so still a little uneasy about the way things had gone, allowed him to take the TV. He said it would be returned to me at the end of the week and I told him could he bring it middle of next week as we were going out of town that Friday. He said fine. The next week, as Friday late afternoon rolled around, I never heard from J&K electronics. I called and it went to voicemail and I left a message (the shop may have already closed by that time). That was Friday 6/14.
On 6/17 I called and my TV was not fixed yet, but it would be done by Wednesday...I told the customer service person that it wasn t what I was told and could Gus please call me. No call came. I called on Tuesday and again, Gus was not available and he would call me. He did not. On Wednesday 6/19 I recieved a call saying my part was in. I asked to speak to Gus and he was not available and did not return the call. On 6/24 I was told my TV was done and FINALLY Gus called me. I told him I was unhappy with nothing being done as he said it would be and he told me he would deliver my TV the next week on 7/3. I told him that wouldn t work as we had a party scheduled for 6/29 and needed the tv. He told me that he was booked up and his million dollar install couldn t be put off for one little TV. I was livid #$%$! I told him that I would be down to pick up my TV the next day. At that point, Gus started telling me about a band across the top of the screen that must have been there before he picked it up where the picture is distorted. Aside from the TV being hard to turn on, there was NOTHING wrong with the picture prior to me sending it with Gus. So now, I ve paid over $400 to fix a tv that came back in worse shape than when it left and because the owner couldn t be bothered to deliver one little TV, I had to take an hour of my time to go pick up his TV (which they didn t even discount the fact that they didn t deliver it after Gus made such a big deal about how the service call paid for the fact that I was so far out of his normal service area. After this experience, I started looking at the reviews online about J&K Electronics and while I didn t do so before I called them, I wish I had because it s filled with people who had nearly the same experience as I did. Gus is a nice guy I think, but runs a #$%$ business.
I have opened a complaint with the BBB, but it's obvious from their file that it's not that unusual for them to get complaints to the BBB and not resolve it.
My lamp went out in Feb. 2013 called j&k they came to replace my tv lamp 2 days later, same lamp that I got replaced that costed me 300.00 is now not working, it went out in Jun.2013 called to see if they could replace my lamp and the receptionist said that it was probably a module by the lamp that was making the lamp not function, she kept giving me excuses like it was my tv, and that the lamp had a 3 r 6 months warranty but what new bulb is going to go out within 3 to 6 months. So I asked to speak to the manager she stated that she was the only one in the store, and I made numerous attempts to call and every time she always tells me that they want be in until the next week, for a whole month that's what I been getting... So buyers beware...
Need Help – Ok so I havent been here yet but I did have a extremely horrible experience with another repair shop and now I am abit nervous for them to actually even take a look at my tv since most of the reviews have been negative and the same issues that I had with the other repair shop but on a positive note the man that answered the phone seemed very nice but on a side note I will review again if I decide to go with J&K
New Samsung LED TV – Just purchased a new 55" Samsung LED TV from J&K. Not only did I get a great deal, Gus personally delivered and setup the TV AND, removed my old humongous Mitsubishi 55" rear projection TV(down a crooked flight of stairs no less...). Couldn't be happier with the sales & service!
If you're in the market for a new HDTV, give Gus a chance to make you offer. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Worst service ever – This place is so terrible! We called them out to fix out tv 2 weeks ago. They ordered the part, and would be back in a week. A week later we had to call to figure out whats going on. They scheduled to come out. They came out, but only to tell me that they had ordered the wrong part. Since it was their mistake, they would overnight the correct part, and be back. My husband and I both have called and left several messages with the company since then, with no calls back. The 2 receptionists have no clue whats going on, and have no problem telling you that. And asking for the owner does no good, because they will tell you he's not available, but will call you back. Obviously, there is no call back from them.
This is now day 13 and my tv is no closer to working than it was before we made the terrible decision to call J & K Electronics!

Avoid this shady company – My 61" Samsung DLP went out June 2010. I called Samsung and they referred me to J&K Electronics as an authorized repair center. Before calling, I did research and knew that the lamp had gone out. I also discovered that Phillips brand lamps are preferred as the have a much longer life span than the other lamp brands (3-5 years compared to 1-3). So, when I spoke to J&K about the issue I repeatedly demanded the Phillips lamp, which they reassured me is what they used. They also stated the life span as a reason for them using this brand. I was at work when the tech came by to install. My wife asked the tech to confirm once again that they were using a Phillips lamp to replace the burnt lamp in out tv. The tech showed her a Phillips box (he even left the box with the old lamp) and did the install. I got home and the tv looked great, bright as the day we purchased it new. Exactly one year, almost to the day, our lamp goes out again. I decide that I can repair this and order another Phillips lamp online without the housing. When I pull the lamp installed by J&K, it is not a Phillips, but is an OSRAM made by Sylvania. All J&K has to say about this is that Sylvania is a good lamp. Not the point. Avoid this company! They are shady, sneaky liars. I have also informed Samsung of this in the hope that they will not refer other customers to this dishonest company.

Do not trust their pricing – I called and received a price for hanging a tv with a special bracket. They gave me the price and when they arrived they unpacked my tv and then told me that the pricing was wrong. They expected to run wiring or find some way of raising their price. I already had the wiring in place and the installer called the owner who told me too bad. He claimed that I misunderstood the pricing. The pricing was only good if they did wiring (which would have cost even more). I told them to leave.
mr bum , our istallation fee and i have hundered with same price $ 150.0 with bracket , especial bracket and customer design have differnt pricing .
Worst service ever – We fought with these people for about 2 months to get our tv fixed and nothing was done! They never call back and they leave you on hold for a long time. After 2 months of trying to get our TV fixed they informed us that they couldnt help us because they could not order the parts from panasonic! They told me i, myself had to call panasonic! So i did. They refered us to another TV repair shop and they were so helpfull! Our TV was fixed in a week and they let us borrow a TV while ours was getting fixed! Stay away from J &K

WE OFFERED LOANERS MANY TIMES BUT YOU DECLINED , THE LOANER TV IS IS PART OF A LOANER PROGRAM BY PANASONIC REQUIRE TO SIGN A CONTRACT BETWEEN YOU AND PANASONIC AGREEING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOANER TV . TILL YOU TV REPAIRED A RETURNED AND YOU REFUSE TO DO SO .
