I have been going to Arcodoro for years! I have had hosted numerous celebrations there. I love the food, the atmosphere and the wait staff! Joe is the restaurant manager at Arcodoro. He along with his staff work to ensure everyone has a fabulous experience each and every time! When the weather is cool their patio is a must! Ciao.

Fit for a Princess – My family and I eat out quite a bit so we acknowledge the fact that every restaurant has its own style of food and service. Arcodoro's food and service is top notch. Chef GianCarlo is a genius. We have never had a dish we didn't like. The portions are perfect the presentation is beautiful and the taste is out of this world. The staff is very knowledgeable about the food and wine they serve. It is a great place to take the family. The kids love to sit at the pizza bar to make their own oven baked pizzas. We recently took some friends for a birthday dinner. My friend said she felt like a Princess! She loved the food and the service was amazing. Thank you Arcodoro! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Bad food, Bad service - Houston Restaurant Weeks – The only thing good I can say about Arcodoro in the Galleria area is that they employ a very talented writer. Based on all the menus we looked at for Houston Restaurant Weeks (HRW), we were most impressed with what Arcodoro offered.

We had dinner on a Monday at 9pm. We were given the speical HRW menu and no wine list or drink menu, and asked the hostess for them. The waiter failed to greet us, but just asked what we wanted to drink. We asked for a wine list again.

After ordering cocktails, we noticed that the restaurant's regular menu was published on the inside of the HRW menu. My husband was taking a look at it when a second waiter came over to our table and told him that wasn't a menu he could order from for HRW. He then removed our wine glasses. My husband told him we had ordered wine, and the waiter said they would bring the glasses back at a later time.

First course was a mushroom bruschetta for me and a calamair ceviche. Both ok, but my husband was thrown for a loop by the frozen bits of tomato in his ceviche which seemed intentional. My bruschetta was too oily, but tolerable.

Second course was salmon raviloi and the pasta with beef short ribs. Both dishes were an utter disappointment. The salmon mousse was flavorless and the calamari pieces had been frozen. The ravioli dishes was delivered lukewarm and turned cool almost immediately. The pasat and short ribs were flavroless as well and contained nothing special about it whatsoever. I could have microwaved this dish for a toddler.

The third course was dessert and was described as a puff pastry with sweet cheese and honey, and my husband had tiramisu. My puff pastry was fried raviloi and had been fried too long because the pastry burst open and all of the sweet cheese filling must have spilled out in the cooking process. What I was served was a nearly empty fried shell. The scoop of coffee ice cream on the side had freezer burn. The tiramisu was also disappointing in that the ladyfinger were dried out ... also an effect of too much refrigeration.

Nothing was fresh, nothing was special. I would say the entire was forgettable excpet for the fact that it was so bad we are likely to never forget it.

Diners of HRW beware! Restaurants tend to look down on you as mere bargain hunters and may be serving you cost-effective dishes instead of quality.

We frequent fine dining restaurants often and view HRW as a prefect opptorunity to try many of Houston's establishments that we haven't had a chance to try before. Arcodoro will never get money from us again.

Amazing Food, Crappy Service.. – OMG, they had amazing food.. everything was so flavorful. The only bad thing about this place was the service. Our waiter had a major attitude issue.. But other than that, y'all should really try this place. I will definitely be going back there again..

Great Ambiance, Great Service – I went here with someone not long ago. We ate in the main dining room. The atmosphere was nice. We were seated quickly even though the place was packed. While we were waiting for a table, several employees came by to see if we needed anything. The manager appeared to be very professional and attentive. He also came by to see if we needed anything. Our waiter took very good care of us. After dinner, we had coffee and dessert on the pleasant covered patio that had very comfortable seating. We had the dessert sampler, which was very good. Our coffee was refilled quickly. We didn't even have to ask. Someone came out to check on us several times. I should also note, however, that the staff is not overwhelming. They provide excellent service WITHOUT being pushy or annoying. Very professional! Also, there was plenty of parking and we did not choose valet that night. While it is nice to have that option, customers are not forced to valet when dining here. It was a very nice evening....

Honestly,

Huge Disappointment – Since Arcodora's is my sister and my favorite Houston restaurant, we decided to splurge on Easter Brunch. The Sardinian soup was tasteless. The so called mint broth tasted like water, so I exchanged it for the potato leek, which was also very bland. We're both lamb lovers, so we were stunned by how bad the lamb was, tough, tasteless, and over cooked. My sister had finished hers before a server asked if we'd like some lamb sauce. It helped, but didn't save the dish from being the worst lamb I can recall eating.

The waiter disappeared before inquiring if we needed anything, so we had to wait for pepper.

It will be awhile before we return. I just wish we'd returned the lamb.

food is ok...but customer service needs improvement – we have been going to Arcodoro for years....we have always enjoyed the food and had great servers about 95% of the time. we have always thought the restaurant was kid friendly for brunch as well. we have a child with food allergies and we specifically asked her brunch to be cooked a certain way...the food had one of her allergens in it and when we asked about it, we heard the manager tell our server...just tell them we cooked it the way they asked. he was snarky and rude and we could hear him too! he never came by the table nor spoke to us, instead our server apologized to us and was incredibly nice. we were enjoying our company immensely and probably overstayed our welcome at the table, so instead we got glares from the floor manager. depsite the good food, we won't be returning...ever.

Bad food. Expensive. – I went to Arcodoro looking for a nice italian restaurant to a Saturday dinner. The valet service was reasonable for the region. When I ordered the food, I figured out an expensive place that serves frozen foods. I ordered a lasagna and my wife a gnochi. Our order took more than 20 minutes to arrive. The lasagna and the gnochi were heavy and the taste was similar to frozen foods found in the supermarket. it was uneatable.I don't recommend at all.

Overpriced and Sloppy Service – The food was mediocre, the service was sloppy and the prices were excessive for what we got. Maybe that is the reason why they are slow now?

Flawless! – Last week my husband and I went out to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. My Husband had made a reservation at a certain famous steakhouse in the Galleria area. We got there on time but the host had us wait for 35 minutes! since it was a busy night we didnt mind but I kind of noticed people are getting tables without reservation as soon as they walk in. So I told my husband I have lost my appetite and would like to go home. We left the steakhouse and were going to our car and noticed this beautiful patio with cozy little furniture and decided to try our luck to get a table if not maybe have a glass of champagne before we go home. We approached the hostess and told her we dont have reservations but would like to eat if it is possible. She said they are very busy but would try her best to get us a table as soon as possible then she asked for our name and walked us to the patio and told the server to get our drink oders while she is trying to get us a table. Few minutes later the manager came to our table and asked us how we were doing and told us that he is working on getting us a romantic table which I thought was very cute. In about 15 minutes the hostess came back and told us that our table is ready, but we were having so much fun that decided to stay in the patio for another drink and she told us that it is ok and she would hold the table for us. To make the long story short we sat down at our table and my husband asked the server if they served steak and he said perhaps one of the best filet mignon's in town and he was not lying! I was surprised such an authentic Italian restaurant serving such a great steak. When I told our server that we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary he was more excited than us!! Within few minutes the manager comes to our table with our server and a cake and a small candle which I thought it was adorable and sweet.

Overall what started as a awful wedding anniversary, turned out to be one of our best nights out, ever. Thank you Arcodoro for all your hard work. You have earned a customer for life.
