Run Away!!! I paid thousands and went on blind dates from hell! I heard it is even worse for women. As a man I felt like I was being pimped out. They were overbearing with dates. After talking to the ladies it seemed like they hardly got any dates at all! Such a BS joke of a company!
I met a nice lady named Jennifer when I went in to IJL. After that it was all downhill. After you go on an actual date and give them feedback it's like they take it and throw it in the trash!
They also harass you over to phone to get you in to meet them in person. I actually had a friend who said he paid them again over the phone when his membership expired just to get them to leave him alone.
This company is probably one of the worst dating services in Houston.
I couldn’t agree more with the input below. Ladies don't sign up save your money!! I spent $2300 for 12 dates. Sincere waste of my time and money. I had two (2) dates in 12 months. I worked with four different people who would call and tell me a date’s name and nothing else. Poor service, zero matches, zero follow-up, but 100% taking your money. They paint this great picture of these 'great matches' they have for you when you first go in and meet with them. Once you sign, forget it! They don't listen or care about your interests or qualities They DO NOT care! They have a large volume of women clients and a small cliental of men. Communication is horrible and they lie about your matches. The service they provide is very poor; in fact they do not provide a service. DON’T DO IT!!!!! Save your money and please pay attention to the women providing you input here because it’s accurate. Wish I had read this before I signed. What a waste of money!!!
It's Just Laughable – Ladies don't sign up save your money!! This was my first and last experience with a dating service. They waste your time and money. These people are not interested in the people they are hoping to match but only in your money. They paint this great picture of these 'great matches' they have for you when you first go in and meet with them. Once you sign, for get it! I had 12 dates with only 2 of them being good dates the rest were horrible. Out of those 12 there was only one I had a second date with. They don't listen to your interest or qualities you are looking for in a mate but rather just set you up on dates to fulfill their quota of matching you. They DO NOT care! They have a large volume of women clients and a small cliental of men. Communication is horrible and they lie about your matches. The service they provide is very poor ; in fact they do not provide a service. I just finished my last "date", and it was horrible, he was nothing I had told them I wanted. I think it was their way of punishing me for not resigning. They got very pushy trying to get me to resign. Telling me they had these great guys but needed to renew if I wanted to go on a date with them. When I told her to give me a great date and then I would consider resigning she told me it didn't work that way that I had to resign first. They even threw in the 'your not getting any younger' line when I said No and they got a little irritated when I continued to say No. All I can say is good riddance!
Its Just Hell! – I joined this service thinking it would attract the creme of the crop because of the cost but it was just the opposite. Every time they find a match, they give you a call with the description of the person and if you accept, then they set you up on a blind date. Summer, who is in charge of the set-up once called me with the description - brown hair, 5'9", brown eyes, Caucasian. When I showed up, my date had black & white hair, physically shorter than me (I'm only 5' 5"), Hispanic. To top it all, he had a daughter when I explicitly told them not to set me up on dates with single parents. It was the worst date of my life!!
It has been over a year since I discontinued using their services. I got a call from them today out of the blue. I told them I was already engaged to be married (I obviously did not meet him through IJL) and all the lady had to say was "well if for someone reason it does not work out, be sure to give us a call".
How could you possibly trust someone like that??
Worst Ever!!!!!! – If I could give IJL a zero I would. This is a waste of time and $1800. All they want is your money. The matchmaking is a joke. They do not listen to what you are interested in at all. As a current client, I can tell you that me and my dates have talked about their poor services. The quality of people here is not any better here than any other online dating site.
Save your $1800. What a waste!!!!!!!!!!
waste of time – I had to give it a star, as this site required it but they don't even deserve it. This company should be called "Just a Date". Sadly after you spend a lot of time with them, telling them what you are looking for, they don't listen to you or match you basted on anything you are looking for. They just take your lump of money and put you on a date as the contract requires. Do yourself a favor and save your money for a date you want to go on. This is company is not worth the money!!
HORRIBLE! – Biggest Waste of Money I have ever spent next to Events and Adventures, but at least with them, they offered events. The "matchmakers" are SALES PEOPLE--yes they give you dates, but come on, they don't really match you, they just notice that its been 2 weeks since your last date and throw you together with someone, and hope for the best. The first two or three are always decent, and you at least have things in common, but after that, its downhill. There are about 70% more men than women. Check with the BBB before you waste your time on this one.
Just Say No – What an absolute waste of money. The front sales people (Audra in particular) are amazingly good at their job, which is to feed you a bunch of warm and fuzzies about how they have these great matches, take the time to REALLY get to know you and hand pick your potentially perfect mate. I just suffered through date #9 out of my contractually obligated 12 dates and am just kicking myself over and over again for the waste of money. Three of the dates have been with what I would call a "good match" - no, we didn't go on a second date, but at least they were good dates. The rest have been trainwrecks. After the 3rd really bad match I called to complain and got a "Well, tell us what you really want and we'll try harder next time..." Do you really need to tell a matchmaker who spent over an hour "getting to know you" that "I prefer someone who is not socially awkward and doesn't primarily still travel with his parents." Really? Please please please do not waste your money or time on this. Use the money and go on a fun trip with your friends. You will have nothing but 18 months of kicking yourself every time you have to waste an hour of your life with someone who your worst enemy wouldn't be cruel enough to fix you up with, much less supposed "matchmaking professionals".
PRESSURE SALES AND NOT WORTH IT – Spoke to 2 staff members at the Houston office and when I said NO about joining, both seemed to get a little STRONG on their attitude and phone conversation. They tried to humilate me and tell me i wasn't getting any younger and what I was doing so far hadn't worked. They couldn't take NO for an answer and the more they pushed, the less likely I would EVER be to join.
I too had not heard anything good about this location..they recruit you, make it sound wonderful and then dont' do anything for you.
Just say NO!!!!!
