Great store, awesome customer service...the "only" true ski shop in Houston. Of all the sporting goods stores in Houston, Sun and Ski is miles above the rest in customer service and value. They carry some of the best quality gear, the staff is always knowledgeable and friendly...most are actual enthusiasts of the sports and not just "store clerks".

For ski shop services and boot fittings they are the only place in town I'd even think of taking my equipment.

Very unfriendly store policy. As I entered, I asked one of the store clerks to show me to the swimming section, and while being accompanied there by the clerk, I was rudely asked to leave my backpack in the front desk by another employee.

I had been shopping around in related shops all afternoon and this didn't happen in any of the other stores.

I was very unpleasantly surprised, and when I asked why, the employee just replied that "most of the costumers" didn't have a problem with this policy.

I found it rather insulting and decided to leave. They guy looked at me like I was from another planet.

I think in the future I will stick to REI!

As the name implies, this Galleria-area outdoor store is noted as the chain's busiest locale and offers more than a full range of outdoor and camping equipment. Besides preparing any hot city-slicker for the slopes, Sun & Ski focuses on other alternative sports like wake boarding, rock climbing and skate boarding.

Fully Serviced
But there's more than just gear. The store has helpful assemblage resources, seasonal ski and snowboard lessons, portable rock wall and ski deck rentals, and boat demos. Not enough? Pick up an instructional or entertaining sports video or publication. Or plan a fun trip using the available ski and lodging information.
