Watch credit card receipt! – Food is good; delivery is really slow. Be prepared to wait at least one hour. Most important: if paying by credit card, keep receipt to compare to statement. They are notorious for adding fake charges, usually only a dollar or so, but it adds up!
SHOCKING CUSTOMER SERVICE – I agree with other reviewers, they care about their money first customer last. It is family owned/operated, so if they don't feel like working (and choose to close during advertised open business hours) and if they poorly cook your pizza and feel like being rude to you or feel like keeping your money with no effort to help you or fix it, they will.
Listen to what happened to us. I ordered a pizza from the Scarsdale location. The meat or the pizza was bad or something because it started to make us sick (nauseous, and a few other details I won't get into). so we decided to call back and tell them what happened (Thursday 02/06/09 around 6 pm). The guy on the phone (like he had a bad day or something) starts going off on me. He tells me it takes eight hours to digest the pizza, that it didn't make me sick and that if I really felt like it did to call the he alth dept, and that if I called a second time he would consider it harassment and call the police (huh?!) I asked him what his name was and he wouldn't give it to me, and then he hangs up on me!
I was astonished. First off anyone who has felt nauseous after a meal knows it doesn't take EIGHT HOURS to feel that way. Does sour milk or cheese take eight hours to make you feel sick? How long does it take to digest bread? I have never experienced something like that before and really believe that for every person who takes the time to write something like this, there are dozens more who remain silent and simply don't come back (This is the first time I have looked online and did not know others had experienced similar things like this before I ordered.)
I will take his advice about calling the he alth dept. I won't go there anymore and I will also tell everyone I know so they don't have to risk experiencing that.
Raw Ravioli – I received our food after almost two hours. I called and called and was just told that it was on the way. When we got it, the spinach ravioli was dough! I called them and they asked me what I wanted them to do? Well, cooked food would be good. They said it would be about 1.5 hours before they could re-deliver. I think not. I have now been trying for almost three weeks to get the credit back on my card. Every time I've called I've been told that it was done. I just called today and yeah, they have new owners as of this past Monday. She said she will put the credit thru and she promised that the food would be cooked. There's hope for the neighborhood restaurant.!! We'll try again with the new owners. We've eaten here on and off for the last five years.
Editorial Review by Josh Hinsdale – Pizza and hot sub sandwiches await casual diners and delivery customers at this neighborhood outlet.
Total disappointment – We've ordered from Sicily (at another location) and have always been pleased. We moved into a new apartment complex only a mile from this Louetta location. We ordered some friend mushrooms, 2 spaghetti dinners with salads and dessert. When the driver arrived he had only one dinner. He then argued with me that I had ordered only one. He said he would be back as soon as he had reverified at the restaurant. In the meantime, I called and spoke to an employee explaining the situation. I was assured they would have it right out. It has now been over and hour and 20 minutes since I called. I returned the phone call to the restaurant inquiring about my order. I was met with an answer of "he hasn't been there yet???" NOPE! I was told that the driver had already left. Seems to me, I should have been the first delivery not the last. The person answering the phone never offered to comp part of my meal nor to give me a free meal in the future. A full hour and 40 minutes after the initial delivery, they arrived with the other dinner. Only to realize they had once AGAIN forgotten the salad. Nor did they bring the extra garlic bread that was ordered. A complete disappointment. So Cheers to my old location for a job well done, this site needs some serious rehauling of their customer care and satisfaction. They need more staff. Period. I will not be ordering from this location again and plan on letting my neighbors know not to order from this location if they want or need a decent delivery time.
Shameful and Legally Questionable Customer Service BEWARE! – Five days ago, my wife ordered a pizza, then asked how long for delivery. When the pizza guy told her it would be an hour to hour and a half, my wife said that was too long and cancelled the order.
An hour later the pizza arrives at our house anyway. My wife at the neighbor's, the delivery guy insisted that my son (14) sign a piece of paper. Shortly thereafter, Sicily's calls and asks for credit card information. Is this even legal?!
When my wife refused to give any information, the owner became very belligerent over the phone. My wife told him to send the delivery guy back because we never wanted the pizza in the first place. He ended up hanging up on my wife. Delivery guy never came back and we threw out the pizza.
I do NOT recommend Sicily's Pizza. Verbal abuse for one measly pizza?! Get a grip little pizza man!
Great Pizza, good service – I had quite a pleasant experience with Sicily Pizza. The people were friendly, the food, which was the pizza and several sub sandwiches was great. This is real pizza with good ingredients and plenty of toppings. Very good food, prompt delivery and great service.
Agressive and Hostile Service – We'ev used this place 4-6 times over the past year and seldom experienced good service, but the pizza was good enough to ignore the bad service.
However, this month they fouled up our credit card order.
Even though we had signed a credit card receipt, the manager called and became abusive and belligerent over the phone, using abusive language and asked that we not use them again. I did not want to give them the credit card information a second time.
When I was able to verify the information a day or two later, they had processed the charge as suspected.
Be very careful using this restaurant.
