So, so good – I go to school in South Carolina and this is a restaurant I always crave whenever i get back to Houston. The food is awesome, particularly the Mayan Chicken and the pineapple salsa. It gets extremely busy sometimes, but that should just serve as proof that it's worth it.

Great casual restaurant – We have dined at Red Onion numerous times on NW Freeway and Eldridge and the food is excellent, beautiful presentation, great yet different chips and dips. It is a wonderful change of pace from the regular restaurants and the lunch crowd on Eldridge is out the door.......

Fantastic!! – We've been meaning to try this place for a long time and finally did last weekend (3/05). I had the chicken Brazil and my fiance' had the snapper tacos. Both were high in quality, flavor and appearance. The pineapple salsa is ADDICTIVE...We are avid mexican food fans, but this is not your typical tex-mex, wonderful combinations of new flavors! We will be back soon!

Great first impression – I've only had their food once and it was take out, but the Mayan Chicken Salad was just an explosion of colors, textures and flavor. Salad dressing wasn't even necessary. The greens were a little limp but after a 20 minute drive back home, what do you expect. But it was still delicious. Absolutely beautiful salad and crispy drool-worthy chicken. Very good, healthy proportioned meal. Not recommended for feather-weight "house salad" eaters.

Nice Place for a Celebration – A group of seven of us got together for a friend's birthday. We all had a great time! The food was great, the service was efficient and polite and the mango margaritas were fantastic!!! Glad we picked this place - the complementary birthday dessert was wonderful :) We will be going back soon!

Great Place!!!! – I don't want to even recommend this place because I am afraid the place will get busier. Great food, great service, GREAT Margaritas. I've been there several times that now when I go in to place my order I just say "Suprise me" to the waiter or waitress. I've never been disappointed.

Can't go wrong! – This is a place I would take anybody, from executives to friends, and know that they will enjoy it. Amazing food, great service and articulate details in their ambiance and meal preperation. I was a customer when the restaurant was blooming at their old location off of 290. Amazing to see their evolution. With this place, you just can't go wrong!

Unique Flair – Food is served with a artistic flair, & is tasty, but dishes are a bit redundant (same sauces & sides). Red salsa & pineapple salsa brought to the table are excellent. Pretty good service, seating is more prompt & parking is easier at the new NW Freeway location. But be aware that it's not Mexican food, but fusion food - a little Mexican, Central American, Caribbean. Ambience is okay, a little noisy because of echoing.

red onion is decent – This place was OK.. don't expect to be blown away. The salsa was unique.. The chilean sea bass was pretty good. Everything else was kinda average.
