Great Pizza, Outdoor seating, and reasonable bar prices – I have tried candelaris for several months and think they have gotten the service issues resolved. Now with great service and the best pizza in town; try the Papa Alberts, Pollo Arrosto, or Gunslinger, this place is a great place for dining outdoors on good pizza and cold beer and wine. Washington location is happening, Katy is good for kids (too noisy for some).
Ok food-Bad prices-worse service – I went out to eat dinner with three other friends and we went to the new Candelari's in Katy. It had a nice atmosphere, not breathetaking but nice. We ordered the Surfer which was an alarming $22! The ingredients don't compliment each other, and not to mention it was overpriced. One of my friends ordered the
Penne Perfetto, and the pasta was over cooked. It took them forever to finish our order, and when we would ask what happened to our food they would answer us in a rude way or ignore us all together.
Pizza That Never Came, But Attitude WAS Delivered – Ordered a large sausage pizza at 530, was told it would be delivered in 45 minutes to an hour. Called after an hour, they had misplaced the order (this was a Tuesday night!), said that it would be another 45 minutes or so. Called after another hour and they then offered it 'on the house' because they were having computer problems. OK, fine (I'm hungry!) but when I called a third time - more than three hours LATER, they admitted they were still having problems. I give up. Don't bother. They can't stay in business.
Great pizza- Worst Service – I just picked up a pie at the new location on Washington Ave. that I was told by the girl taking the phone order would be ready for pick up at 11:15AM. I got there at 11:20 paid for the pizza and was told it was ready yet. I was waiting for it when the manager-maybe the owner-came up and very rudely asked me if he could help me. I explained to him, without complaining or cussing that I was waiting on my pizza that was suposed to bre ready at 11:15. He checked on it and again in a very rude tone told me it would be another 10-15 minutes. He didn't every offer an apology. I have a short lunch break and although the pizza was good I'll think real hard before I order again. Worst attitude I'ver had to endure from a new business.
Best Pizza In H-Town – I eat at this place once a week minimally. This is one of the best italian food resturants in Houston. They need to open a bigger resturant in Bellaire because they have out grown their current space.
Great Little Place – Candelari's is a small neighborhood pizza joint that serves some of the best pizza in town. It has a tiny restaraunt area with a few tables inside and a few on the sidewalk outside. The food is well prepared with high quality ingredients, and if you order one of their specialty pizzas, you get a free appetizer portion of their delicious sausage. Apparently, you can also bring in your pan, and they'll fill it with their delicious lasagne for you to cook at home. Parking and seating are limited, so they seem to do a lot of their business by pick-up and delivery. Their delivery area seems small, only as far as Kriby - but it might be worth meeting them halfway if you live further.
good food service ? – Food was excellent. There are only 2 tables outside. We went for the food and opportunity to dine outside, but the owner was there with his kids taking up BOTH outside tables during a lunch. We had to eat (3 of us at a table for 2) inside because there was no room outside.
Food is great, but the owner should learn a little about customer service.
good pizza – We visited this pizza place a couple of weeks ago on a Friday night for the first time. The aroma of the pizza when you first walk in was a sure sign the food would be phenomenal. We had the t-rex pizza and were not disappointed. Good crust, sauce, and cheese, and excellent sausage. We wish this place had more tables though - next time we'll probably pick up rather than dine in.
