Multiplex and megaplex theater chain shows mainstream movies in a plush setting. – In Short
In 1920, Edward Durwood opened a single-screen picture house in Kansas City, Mo. Over the next 40 years, his company went on to pioneer the use of four- and six-screen theaters. In 1969, the company incorporated as American Multi-Cinema Inc. in honor of its signature multiplexes. Now, the company is known for theaters with 14 or more screens, as well as innovations such as armrests with built-in cup holders, stadium seating with LoveSeats, ATM-style ticketing and online ticket purchasing.
great variety of movies – I have only gone to this theater a few times because of the distance from my home, but overall it is a good place to go. My husband and I didn't enjoy going on the weekend because of the extremely large volume of teenagers. Other than that, it was a good place to see a movie.
Kinda Far Out but Good – We liked it overall.
It's somewhat of a drive from everywhere.
There is a mall nearby, but you cannot walk to it.
One of the newer places and large enough to hide in.
Never seen – I am a 20 year old girl from Germany. In October 1999 I got the chance to pe part of an American-German partnership program, namely GAPP. With a small group of young students I watched the movie "Crazy" with Melissa Joan Hart. Actually I was quite impressed by the huge cinema. 24 screens are unusual in Germany. We have like app. 10-12. It was pretty amazing !
