Folks... I am a driver for North end Taxi and I would like to apologize for any inconvenience our dingy dispatchers have caused. Being a driver I appreciate our company--it's better then the others because it will let ME drive (white Washintonian female driver) but unfortunately, the drivers are "for hire" and are not employed by the company, which means that we come and go as we please. This also presents a problem for our dispatchers-they never know when we will be in. I try to be consistent, but others could really not care. Lately I have been having a hard time getting a working car or understanding why new drivers don't get maps or follw easy general procedures. Not to be mean to customers, but being a cabby is not an easy business since pretty much any Tom, Richard or Harry can be one and most don't care. N. End try's, but is only human (and 98% American, Engish speaking) Please feel free to nag to the Co.!!! I look forward to getting it right. Also notice how I nag, figuring my owner will not look at this. Please feel free to ask for Mike Lafrance or Connie Dunn. We WILL hook you up. Enjoy this heat wave.

Here's the situation I'm trying to get home to bring my diabetic mother her glucometer so it's time for a taxi. I call North End as I've always tried to support them. They send a cab my way and I wait outside. Ten minutes go by and I call back saying I'll wait at another corner to make it easier for the driver to pick me up. I go there and wait another 15. In this time 3 empty taxies from oher companies have passed me by. Finally I call the dispatcher back to say that I'm sorry, but I can't wait any longer and need to grab another taxi. He says ok and I get in an Orange Cab, I call my mother to let her know I have her glucometer and when I get off I have a new voicemail waiting. It's the dispatcher who called me back to chew me out about wasting his time. He makes me wait 25 minutes without a cab, I do him the courtesy of calling to tell him I am giving up on his cab rather than just walking off, and he calls me to chew me out for wasting HIS time? I have been a supporter of this company for years, they usually have clean cabs and polite drivers. But they have seen a steady decline. I hope this dispatcher's rant garnered him a lot of satisfaction becauseit cost him about 20 fares a year, mostly trips from Shoreline to the airport and I know they are not in a financial position to lose this business. Go with another company. Sure, their drivers may not speak English, but I don't think Yellow Cab would call you up and leave a voice mail chewing you out after making you wat almost half an hour.

I go to the airport about every other week. Early in the AM. They are ALWAYS on time. Their cabs are the clean and well maintained. And I have tried a lot of cab companies. Nothing in Seattle compares. North End Taxi is the best. My favorite drivers are JC and Jeremy. I am sure others are good too but I always ask for these two.

I AM APPALLED AT THIS TAXI COMPANY. EVERY TIME I HAD A SCHEDULED..YES, SCHEDULED PICK UP--IT WAS EITHER ABOUT AN HOUR EARLY (KNOCKING ON MY DOOR AT 4AM!) OR WAY TOO LATE!!! THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST TAXI SERVICE IN THE CITY. THE PROBLEM IS...THE OTHER COMPANIES ARE NOT AS RELIABLE AS FAR AS BEING AROUND AS MUCH AS NORTH END TAXI IS. THE DISPATCHER HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE RELIABLILTY. I WOULD RATHER WALK 10 MILES BAREFOOT, THAN TO USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN. I AM TOTALLY SERIOUS.
Pros: CLEAN CAR
Cons: ALWAYS VERY EARLY OR LATE ON SCHEDULED

In the past few months (since October 2002) this company seems to have replaced thier entire workforce with idiots who cannot figure out what a time-call is... either they are horribly late or REALLY early (need a cab at 6 am? it will be there between 5 am and 7 am).The drivers I have had seem to think they own the road (even oncoming lanes!) and my roommate always gets 'complimented' on her chest size. I used to be a regular customer of North End... the lack of management has chased all the competent employees to rival cab companies. I could deal with a few less-than-pleasant dispatchers/drivers if they were good at what they do, but rude idiots are never worth my money.
Pros: nice paint job, some clean cars, service area
Cons: inconsiderate drivers, unsafe driving, complaints ignored
