As a local who had seen this particular location go through several changes through the years, I found that Tailgaters is the best there has been, hands down. With a full bar available, and a great selection of food on the menu (ranging from typical bar fare to grilled chicken alfredo) there is something for everyone. By nature, I eat the same thing everytime I go to a restaurant, but at Tailgaters, everything is great, so I am willing to try something new each time! The service is great, and the owners take pride in their staff and products. It shows when your food arrives and the lettuce is crisp, and the burger hand pressed. The salads seem fresh, not wilted from a bag, like several Alaskan bar restaurants, and are as good as the food that follows! The only negative is the bar next door. The restaurant is smoke-free, but sometimes when the bar is busy, there is a slight cigarette smell that lingers. However, I would recommend Tailgaters to anyone looking for a quick bite to eat! Conveniently located directly off the Parks Highway, it is a perfect stop for travelers! The many televisions are always playing the games, and when you leave, you will already be planning what you want to eat next time you stop in!
