Ok so everyone makes mistakes but the manager has a nasty disposition sits high on a proverbial pedestal and refused to hear me out about the mistake. We did not get what we ordered and they refused to believe us when we tried to tell them this was not what we asked for. We paid to avoid an issue but we left

Pros: it is a very nice looking old building

Cons: management lacks people skills

It took forever to get waited on . I would say take our orders within 25 minutes at the very least. The manager told us that I had an attitude when I stated that I would like to have our orders taken and asked if there was a problem. He told me that it was none of my business to ask if there was a problem. I would add that we did hear some yelling and screaming in the downstairs area. We left and ate in Clinton at the New Deal Restaurant. That place was nice. In fact they gave us free drinks when we told them about our Wharf experience ! We tried to decline but they insisted, so We left a generous tip !

The Wharf was a great place , no changes to it were ever warranted . Its under new ownership , but its the management that is the issue here. They made the menu smaller . They made the staff smaller. Smaller portions depending on the entree. On the books its looks good but if you plan to dine there you might be disappointed if you are familiar with the old traditional Wharf of the past 20+ years. The atmosphere is great . The building is of great character . Wonderful view of the shoreline. I understand this might be replaced with a new MODERN building with no character which coincides with the new management style. This is progress folks.

Pros: For twenty years this was the best place in town !

Cons: The recent changes really hurt the dining experience one expects

Food is below average , Service is slow , Food overcooked .... Nice Location Nice View Interesting atmosphere has old ship pictures and nautical theme items all along the walls like oars and other ocean / sailing / boating items. nice deck to sit outdoors...the building looks very nautical , large windows facing the ocean front. Too bad they burned our food and made us wait forty minutes for new meals and even then it was lousy . if it wasn't for lousy food and lousy service this place would be swell !

Pros: Swell Veiw and Swell Decor throughout the building Nice Porch

Cons: Food was done carelessly and service was below average

For almost 20 years we enjoyed this fine place it was almost a tradition. Sadly we will not dine here again. Its under new ownership and they cut corners and cheapened this place. To be more specific the food has been scaled down and the service is quite slow. This establishment was always sort of a landmark in madison. I never thought this place would ever become so poorly managed . I don't even care if they increase the prices but to have so little food on the plates and I would be ashamed to bring a paying customer such a pitiful amount of food. They are fixing that which aint broken here raise prices and keep the place exactly the same because it has worked well for two entire decades.

Pros: Great charactor to the building and wonderful location

Cons: small meals and poor service too many cut backs here

Horrible . Dreadful . Ordered our selections from the menu and forty minutes later we are told they are out of and out of etc. One dinner was delivered to our table ! There were five of us ! Unbelievable !

Pros: One order was correct

Cons: they waited forty minutes to inform us they were out of this and that ....

Average Meal Great Veiw NO BAD Experiences .....and whoopty Doo ! that they or someone speaks spanish I speak English. This is a three star place Pricy but its on the water Some reviews here look planted because they are worded the same like an advertisement would be written. This place is under new ownership so its not quite as it was run in the past . Down stairs is a banquet hall and prices went up slightly They are cautious by having a smaller menu but there is plenty of categories to select from. Based on reading some reviews they need to communicate when issues arrise and issues do happen but its how they are handled that counts most. Its my experience that all was ok on my visit.

Pros: Great Veiw

I give The Wharf 4 stars because, I would recommend it to my friends and family. Maybe not 5 stars but, definately not anything less then 3! Seafood is fresh (not fried), priced accurately and portions are fair for the price. Prices and Portions are right on par with other shoreline finer dining establishments. I don't understand why people would say anything different (unless you are comparing prices with a burger joint or clam shack). A variety of lunch and dinner specials served daily. Service is friendly and with a smile, eager to accomodate special requests. Kitchen can be slow on busier nights at prime time but, that should be expected. Best views of the Long Island Sound. Give it a shot!

Pros: Friendly Staff, Fantastic menu items

Cons: Specials sell out quickly

Service was slow but they don't have a full staff Food was ok but priced on the high side There was a very loud argument in the back and it was really scary to listen to and this sort of ruined the evening for us and it scared our two children We might still go back but not soon Other than the excitement it was not bad and we liked the view from the terrace !!! I wish we had not heard all the commotion and it was actually rude for everyone .

Pros: Nice atmosphere

Cons: Noisy
