I use to go here every day after school. (My school was across the street!) The food is to die for and it taste just like your grandmother makes in Puerto Rico! If you're looking for great tasting authentic PR food this is the place to go! I even have the food served at all my parties and I am actually ordered it for my wedding! I can promise you will leave Cafe Central very happy and satisfied!
Pros: Very authentic, good location, great price!
Cons: Parking isn't easy

A place to enjoy the food your relatives and friends eat in PR everyday, with the same authentic flavor that bring in you a smile after each meal. I have visited this place since 1976, and it have kept the Puertorican tradition alive. Check the viadas con bacalao on weekends, pasteles and frituras. Eat the mixtas when your are looking for a satisfying entree.
Pros: Freshness
Cons: It keeps out of the diet

I was fortunate to be one of the students in the 70's by one of the owners wives. I have been going to Cage Central since around 85. Still go there., Use to live across the alley. But on Fridays, A really great Puerto Rican Cuisine called Vellanda with bacalao. Oh they run out by 3 pm so make sure you get there. Every type of Pr food you could think of. this is one of those other hidden gems that most people miss. The neighborhood has become a bit more yuppy, which is not bad, but the food is what you will go back for over and over.
Pros: Really true PR flair.
Cons: Parking, street metered, can sometimes get on your nerves.
