I feel so good now it is hard to remember how awful I felt only 2 months ago. I went to Sarah as a last resort before turning to anti-depressants. At my first appointment Sarah made me feel relaxed and cared for, and gave me hope that this would make me feel much better. I was feeling depressed, low-energy and as I explained to her, felt anxiety like something was scraping on the inside of my skin. The treatment did not hurt at all and was very very relaxing. Now after 2 months of progressively feeling better I feel SO grateful to Sarah for helping me reset my body and get back to a normal balanced state. I had an annoying eye-twitch which vanished immediately, my need to drink alcohol has lessened dramatically, I have quit smoking, quit biting my lip, and I have a lot more energy. My body just feels relaxed and the anxiety is all but gone. She is a wonderful healer and I would recommend her highly to anyone!! Thanks Sarah!

Going to Acupuncture Northwest and working with Sarah has truly changed me. I have had decades of back pain due to lower back surgeries and my job now includes tremendous stress. Sarah has dramatically helped both conditions with a special touch. I was a bit of a skeptic of Eastern medicine at first, but the results have proven to be overwhelming. I would recommend Acupuncture Northwest to anyone needing help to heal themselves.

I went for my first accupuncture appointment in my life and did not know what to expect. The ambiance and practitioners made me feel so comfortable, relaxed and at ease with the process. I have had chronic back pains and felt more relief than I had in years after just two appointments. I was concerned about finding a top-notch acupuncturist in the Portland metro because we are new to the area. Honestly, I need to look no more! You really feel cared about by the practitioners at Accupuncture NW, and you really are. They are really genuine people and value their work and patients. Seriously, they are a duo of healing power and energy, wisdom and kindness. Whatever ails you I am sure they will help you a great deal! DMV

Pros: Great pokes by kind, knowledgable practitioners AND the ambiance sets the tone for a great time-out.

Cons: none

I started seeing Emily at Acupuncture Northwest for a variety of issues - among them too much worrying, insomnia, and hip pain. I have found that acupuncture has reduced all of these symptons without any side effects. If you take pain pills or sleeping pills, it seems like there's always some "blowback" to worry about. I guess that doesn't happen with acupuncture because it's all about restoring balance. Emily is also really knowledgeable and it's interesting to learn about Chinese medicine from her. Also, toward the end of the school year, my 7-year-old son started pulling his hair out - so much so he was developing a bald spot and getting teased about it at school. Emily said, "Hey, I can help with that," and so I brought my son in. He wasn't so into the idea of needles, so Emily used acupressure and gave us a routine at home to do every night too. We saw her for several weeks in a row and the effect was amazing. Did he stop pulling out his hair the first week? Yes? Did he backslide? Hardly at all. And now, five or six months later, his hair looks almost normal and he sees Emily a couple times a month. My son looks forward to his acupressure sessions with Emily and when he leaves, he's always laughing and relaxed - back to himself. The hair pulling is over, at least for now, and if it were to recur, I would bump our appointments back up to once a week....but so far, he's doing really well and I am eternally grateful to Emily and Acupuncture Northwest.

I have suffered chronic lower back and hip pain for the past 5 years. I had to stop doing the activities I loved such as jogging, hiking and playing tennis. Sleeping and walking became difficult and painful. Over the past five years I have been examined and treated by many health care practitioners. On advice from a chiropractor, and in desperation, I tried acupuncture. I am very grateful to have found Acupuncture Northwest and Emily. Emily is a gifted healer. With each session my condition improved. This therapy far exceeded my expectations. I can now jog and play tennis pain free, when all I dared to hope for was to be able to sleep and walk pain free again. Emily's listening skills, her professionalism, and caring manner, along with her obvious knowledge and talent, make her the perfect health care practitioner. She has helped me understand the process of healing from chronic pain and injury and gave me hope for continued improvement all along the way.

Emily at Acu NW is the best healer that I have seen. I have been recovering from a traumatic accident for the last 3 1/2 years and have seen at least 20 specialist including many acupuncturists. In the 2 months that I have been seeing Emily at Acupuncture NW, I have healed more than in the total 3 1/2 years. I highly recommend her to anyone with chronic pain or just in need of an acupuncturist. She is nice, caring and completely focused on doing everything that she can to help you heal!

Pros: Effective treatment, value, attention to detail

I was skeptical about acupuncture, but went to Sarah when I developed several medical conditions that seemed to be pushing me towards the more and more medication scenario, which I dreaded. Sarah immediately put me at ease, and I was impressed by the extensive history she took before our session. I felt that she listened intently to everything I said, and the care she felt was very evident. She helped me through the first needles, and was very careful that I be comfortable. It was painless, and very relaxing. The great news is that after 4 sessions, when I went back to my MD for bloodwork, my pre diabetic numbers had dropped way down into the normal range, and my anemia was gone! I had been working on both issues for months with diet and iron, to no avail. Besides that, my acid reflux is gone, and I had taken Prilosec for that for 5 years! I can't say enough about how pleased I am with Sarah's treatment! My MD was happy, too!

Pros: prompt, professional, friendly service, effective treatment, relaxing atmosphere,

Cons: none

Sarah is an amazing person who is very caring, passionate and so understanding. She makes sure she gets to know you and understands your need and will treat you very adequately. I went to see her for my hip pain (bone necrosis) and ever since, I can walk again without my walking can. I then was hoping to have another child (I have a toddler) before I get to do this inevitable hip replacement and Sarah gave me that hope: I am now expecting and am carrying the baby wonderfully ‘til after giving birth, it’ll be time for my surgery… I highly recommend her to everyone. You won’t regret it. She’s simply the best!

Pros: her personality, her email reliability, availability, office hours, calming and relaxing environment.

Cons: None.

I started seeing Sarah at the beginning of the year when I could not get out of bed because of intense back pain. In less than a year I am participating in my second triathlon. I would never have been able to do this without Sarah's fabulous gift. She knows where the pain is and gets results. I highly recommend her to people who have a sports injury. Also worked wonders on my seasonal allergies.
