This movie is OK. Based on the true story of the first female pop warner football player, it is a "heart-warming" type of film that focuses on overcoming emotional pain through strength and opening up to others. Ice Cube and Keke Palmer have a strong connection with each other in real life which makes the acting between them that much better. Nothing novel or unique about the plot development and nothing intrinsic that will "grab" an audience, but the authenticity is such to make the sensitive cry and it's acceptable and accessible for kids.
