I used to be the laziest person when it came to my hair. Since moving to Portland four years ago, I have been to several SuperCuts and some crappy place at the mall. Granted, I was on a schedule of one haircut a year, so it wasn't a big deal. I had a wedding coming up this fall, and knew that something had to be done with my hair - at least a nice trim - so after reading these reviews I went to LI. Nichole was super sweet, and didn't pick on me too much about my hideous haircut. She gave me a nice trim, nothing drastic since I was nervous about changing things up before the wedding (although anything would have been an improvement). Thankfully, on that first visit, I made a return appointment - you're supposed to get your hair cut every few months!?!? The next time I went in, I had a few pictures and wanted some bangs. She went to work, and I have the most AWESOME haircut ever. Literally. I know, you're saying I don't know anything about hair, I'm a lazy novice. Well, I know what looks good, and I know that I feel like a million bucks - thanks to London Influence. I actually care about my hair! Nichole is a pro, it is quite obvious. Thank you guys so much.

I just saw Robert very recently for the first time. Now I had some bad cut and color experiences since I have been here in Portland. I miss my guy in LA. But not any more. When I saw Robert he knew exactly what to do. Cut, Color, Style. He explained to me what I was getting and why. Why hasn't anybody done that before? I don't know, not even Mr. LA did that. When I was done I had the most incredible haircut and color I have ever had. My hair was so shiny and it's such an easy cut to do in the morning. Thanks Robert for really being an artist.

I just recently had my hair cut by Michelle and I have to say that she is not just an average hair stylest. Her attitude and views of cut and color surpasses anyone I have ever met. She actually LISTENED to my concerns about cutting my long hair (it's above my ears now) and told me exactly what I should go for. She gave me the cutest pixie cut and the most amazing color and I swear I don't go a day without at least SOMEONE telling me how great my hair is or asking where I got it done. MICHELLE...I'LL FOLLOW YOU WHEREVER YOU GO...but please don't leave because it took me 34 years to find you. With her amazing knowledge and understanding of hair (did I mention she is a color instructor?), you better make your appt. early. Just go in and see Michelle..She's the tall exotic redhead with the magic scissors!

Pros: Excellent personal customer service and knowledge

Cons: Parking is pretty bad, but Michelle is worth it!

So I am a total convert. I have recently joined the masses of Robert faithful. I saw him on a recent trip into downtown Portland from the 'burbs. I have to say, I have never had that kind of hair experience before. He asked me a few things but mostly what he did was tell me what I needed and why. By the time I was done I felt like I had been on one of those makeover shows. I ran right out and had my makeup redone and bought some new clothes. Thank you Robert for bringing out what i never thought was possible, me with gorgeous hair. My husband and kids both gave me compliments and that has never happened. You're the best!

I’ve been on a quest for a new hair stylist for the last seven years… with some very poor (and often pricey) results. But as of today, that has changed! I want to give a big thanks to John @ London Influence… He listened to me, asked relevant questions about my desired style, and then, (brace yourselves!!)…he cut my hair EXACTLY the way I wanted it. (Over the last seven years, I think I became conditioned to NOT getting what I had asked for). This is the first time in seven years that I have not had to go back to the stylist for a correction. But more than that, his work is fantastic. I cannot recommend John highly enough. (I’m seriously picky to begin with…but he “nailed” every aspect of the cut I asked for). Thank you SO MUCH John… You’ll be seeing me again soon!

Pros: Precision in hair cut; Got what I asked for; Many stylists to choose from; Not pretentious; A fun staff; Right on MAX line.

Cons: Could be a little difficult for "tight budgets" (but, IMHO, well worth every penny! )

I come from a mixed ethnic background. My hair is dark and on the thick side. I usually end up with orange highlights and some jacked up hair cut. For the first time in forever, i have beautiful hair, cut and color, and it is all thanks to you Robert. You knew exactly what i needed and more importantly. what I did not want. He looked at my face and hair and decided what I should have. I have never been this happy before. Thank you for being a beacon of hope to us chickas living in Portland. I will be sending all my girls to you now.

But thank GOD you do. I found Robert a few months ago from this website. I have had extremely bad cuts and color since moving to Portland some years ago. Once I started seeing Robert, that all changed and so has my social life. My hair was just so blah and now, in Robert's words, my hair is "rahhh". I just wanted to say thank you for doing such a great job on my hair, making me laugh, and always giving great advice and keeping up to date on the food scene here in town. I know it's just hair, but you have really changed my life. Thanks for helping me turn the right few heads.

I found London Influence on City Search a couple of years ago when I had just moved to the Portland area and had the dreaded assignment of finding a new Salon. As many of you reading this now, I was extremely nervous about stepping into a new salon and putting my hair into the hands of someone new as I had the same stylist in CA for many years. I read the reviews and decided to try it out. I worked with Rebecca and have to say she is amazing!! Could not have been luckier to find someone as talented as her on my first attempt! She is phenomenal at color and always able to amaze me with fabulous cuts. I am one of those people who have many demands and she always is able to accommodate and WOW me!! Thank you Rebecca for all you do for my hair!! I always receive so many complements and you always seem to be able to decipher exactly what I am looking for and provide extraordinary results!

I am a convert. I went to see Robert at london Influence recently and I was a bit scared seeing anew hairdresser. I have never had very good luck with them and my hair. When Robert was done, and mind you I had to go back to work, I looked and felt amazing. I usually have to go home to restyle my hair, not today. My hair was the best it has ever looked and it was so shiny and great. Thanks again Robert for the great color and probably the best and easiest haircut i have ever had to style myself. I am yours forever.

I went in to get my hair fixed recently by Robert. I had a bad dye job and cut and was sure there was nothing that could be done about it, but having read about him here I thought just maybe he could help. Not only did he help, he completely turned my hair around. I left with an awesome color and a great cut. I thought for sure it was going to take a year to get my hair back again. Thanks Robert for saving my hair and making me look so great. BTW, thanks for the great restaurant recommendations.
