Doug Fir
830 E Burnside St, Portland, OR
"The Doug Fir on Burnside for breakfast. They have an orange-scented croissant french toast that is mind-blowing, along with Stumptown coffee, the Timberline scramble with Italian sausage and Pearl Bakery baguettes fresh each morning--awesome." -
Nostrana
1401 SE Morrison St, Portland, OR
"Nostrana, over on Morrison, is great for lunch. The radicchio and fresh parmesan salad is perhaps one of the best salads in town, followed by their thin crust pizza topped with arugula and parmesan--truly amazing." -
Fenouil
900 NW 11th Ave, Portland, OR
"There are so many places in Portland with fabulous food for dinner. Fenouil, in the Pearl, is great with their braised venison shank. Similar to osso buco, yet even more tender and the most beautiful color and texture--fantastic. It's also great to sit by the fire." -
Three Doors Down Cafe
1429 SE 37th Ave, Portland, OR
"They have the best foie gras and their bib salad is great. The pancetta wrapped monkfish is of the best in town." -
Bluehour
250 NW 13th Ave, Portland, OR
"For early evening cocktails, Bluehour is fun in the lounge. They make a perfect martini in an urban atmosphere that has energy but is not too loud." -
Andina Restaurant
1314 NW Glisan St, Portland, OR
"We usually move on to Andina and Apotheke [the bar above Andina] for our next round of drinks. It's a great combination of décor, a fab crowd and top-notch cocktails." -
Union Jacks Club
938 E Burnside St, Portland, OR
"The secret sleeper bar of Portland is Union Jacks, next to the Jupiter Hotel. A Suicide Girl strip bar/classic rock lounge/modern-day burlesque show, all wrapped up in one. Packed on a Saturday night, with couples, rockers, politicians, social climbers and the dregs of town--all mixed together."
